I want to replace the timing chain tensioner and chain (058109088k). I normally buy critical parts from Audi, but they want €600 for the tensioner and chain. The SWAG or Febi kits are €250.

What's everyone used on their cars?

I use Febi for as much as possible, better or equal to OEM. Use febis part finder to get febi part number and then only search for "Febi *****" with eBay and amazon, and you'll definitely get parts cheaper without skimping on quality.

I wouldn't have an issue using Febi. In fact I looked at replacing the tensioner when I rebuilt my TT engine recently. Found this Febi kit that looks very good value. Everything you need to change the tensioner in one kit for less than £260.

You just need the tool to compress the tensioner https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Camshaft...OR-VAG-VW-AUDI-ENGINES-OEM-3366/181469093599?
Don't try and do it without the tensioner tool, It's well worth the £8 .

SKF timing belt kit (inc Tensioner & Damper) is £112 with the current promotion code at ECP at the moment.

It's £102 at car parts for less. Same parts less discount but pretty much always cheaper as they have no real shops. Car parts for less is the on line version of ECP. Only down side is you can't pick up the parts from the shop it's delivery only.

OP never asked for cambelt anyway.
They do a timing chain kit but it's Lucas not in stock and £70 more than the Febi kit I linked to earlier.
