1.8 tfsi rattle

Hello everyone, I was wandering if someone could help. I have a 1.8 tfsi a3 and I was driving yesterday and I noticed a metallic rattle that sounds like it’s coming from underneath the car. It only does it when I accelerate lightly. Has anyone else ever experienced this rattle? I’ve been looking online but I can’t find much for the A3 8v. Thanks!

If so there was a campaign to adjust the watergate actuator which lessens it, but doesn’t fully resolve it.

Alright mate, I really don’t know. I’ve just tried to replicate it with my friend and it wouldn’t make the noise. But driving to work this morning, I could hear it the whole journey. It only started happening yesterday, I’ve owned the car for two years and the cars roughly done 50k miles. Do you think if it was the waste gate it would have happened at an earlier age/mileage?

Probably easier to put up a recording when you hear the car doing it again, describing speed & rev range.
