My daughter is interested in buying a 2016-18 model A1 1.4 TFSI, but would like some advice regarding the suspension and wheel size ride and handling quality between the Sport and Sline versions.

The Sport version appears to have sports suspension and 16” wheels as standard, whilst the Sline has stiffer suspension than the Sport, plus 17” wheels.

After reading road test reports, it appears the Sline on 17” wheels and 45 ratio tyres gives quite a hard ride, where you feel every road imperfection, whilst the Sport on 16” wheels and 50 ratio tyres is more forgiving.

Also, overall, is the Sline worth paying the extra for over a Sport model?

I would appreciate comments/recommendations on your experience with either set up.

Many thanks :icon thumright:

To update this thread, we test drove both a Sportback Sport and a 3 door Sline yesterday, and we found the Sline suspension and 17” wheels set up just too hard for everyday driving, so we ended up buying the 2017 1.4tfsi Sportback, with collection on Tuesday....our daughter is VERY happy!! :icon thumright:
