Fair play, I can only speak from experience and my late 2008 car did 125k from brand new with only a heater matrix failure, same clutch too. I especially loved the damping on the light adjustment button, it was a joy.
The B7 was a great package, build quality was right up there for me, everything over engineered and built to last. Can we say the same of todays cars? Am I getting old? I sound like my dad.
The prices on these are only going one way. You've just got to be prepared for the bills, everthing costs a grand.
I've had two and the noise, manual gearbox and the presence these have is really something.
Just make sure you go in eyes open, mpg will be low 20's at absolute best I saw 9mpg...
Others may disagree but I've had nothing but good experience with this engine. Ran a B7 from new to 115k with zero issues also had an 8P A3 which had the same engine and regularly got 60+ mpg zero issues. Currently run a C6 A6 on 128k again zero engine issues. So my experience is that they're...
Good times! Great platform the B7
Mine was the best car I've owned for sure. 8 years and it was with me and 105k miles, never missed a beat, never.
What's the mileage Rob?
Looks like the TPMS tyre pressure monitoring system) warning light. Maybe the battery is low in the valve and as it's yellow not red it's an alert to change it.
I had the same feeling but to a lesser extent, didn't really think much about it as it wasn't a problem after the car was warm.
However, after a carbon clean the difference when cold was night and day, a lot smoother idle and a lot less "lumpy".
HTH.
