In theory you can run a Quattro gearbox without the prop and rear diff fitted etc
But as it’s been said many times before it’s not worth the amount of effort and money to convert the car to Quattro. You’re better off selling and buying a Quattro model it will save you a lot

Lovely looking car mate.
I wouldn’t get too hung up on the weight of the discs, just remember that the original brake discs from the q7/Touareg are 34mm thick when they’re new, I know that the A4 isn’t anywhere as big but you still want a thick enough disc to dissipate the heat. The pad...
How many miles has the car done?
I’m sure you’re aware they’re not a serviceable item like spark plugs etc.
But if 2 have failed it’s common practice to replace all of them as a precaution.
That would be the safest bet, Sod’s law you’ll replace the two offending items and then another 1 or...
I’m not 100% certain but I think they are a completely different chassis to the b5, b6 and B7.
So I don’t think the rear seats will be bolt in, and the front seats might line up. But I don’t think it’s a common swap

Hi all,
My friend has got a B7 3.0TDIQuattro and he lost his licence for a year. His wife drove it for the first 6 months but they couldn’t afford to run it so she got a little cheap run around corsa to save on fuel insurance etc.
He has just come to start it and as. Had been sat he got a...
That could just be a characteristic of your car. A3s that use a transverse gearbox(side to side) and haldex set up are only activated when the front wheels spin and is controlled electronically. So when you turn on full lock the car knows this from a sensor and doesn’t kick the rear wheels in...
Only on 4x4s like a Land Rover defender or a ford ranger or something similar are the differentials all separate. On a 4wd car like yours the front diff and centre diff are all housed in the same gearbox casing that the gearbox itself is in. It’s the rear diff that’s the only separate item...
How many miles has it covered?
Does it judder only when turning to pull away or in a straight line too?
It could just be that the gearbox fluid and filter need changing. I think Audi say that the gearbox oil is a lifetime oil but a lot of people say they should be changed around 70-80k.
The...
Before you go and replace them if you’re doing it because you feel like they need doing they’re not a service item like spark plugs.
Unless they’re faulty there is no need to change them and if for any reason one snaps you’ll soon be wishing that you hadn’t bothered.
Just make sure you...
Have you painted these pistons?
Just to point out that, if you have painted them then your going to potentially damage your engine very quickly. They need to be bare aluminium against the cylinder wall to allow the oil to lubricate them. When they get hot mixed with oil the paint will turn...
I’d vote with the connections under the seats.
First things first thought before you go delving into it all. I’d advise you to disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for at least 10 mins before playing with the plugs.
The air bag systems work of piezo Chrystal and it only takes a...
It’s difficult to prove the engine actually has that low mileage on. So expect the worst.
The easiest way to test the glow plugs is with a test light, or if you don’t have one you can make one. Get a working headlight bulb with a couple of wires attached to each terminal. you need to then put...
Well if you keep it by passed for too long you might end up with other problems so it worth’s worth getting it changed sooner than later.
As for the glow plug issue make sure again you get them changed sooner than later cause it’s un-burnt fuel going through the system, that can be part of the...
Best idea would be to do a scan with a diag reader, this would probably cover the sluggish starting more than the coolant loss.
But I think you’re probably in the right ball park with the EGR cooler. It will have one but where exactly I’m not too sure.
I would suggest once you’ve found it to...
Have you contacted them about your issue? They might know what you can do, or on the other hand see if there is anything they can develop seeing as it’s a product they sell.
Hopefully they are a decent company and at least try and help you out

Hmm Ok well that in theory replicates the factory I guess, my only other thoughts are what size is all the pipe work compared to the factory ?
It could be that your pipe work is restricting air flow causing the pressure build up. Also how often to you check and empty the can itself? It could...
What’s the third port connected too on the can then? Surely you would be better off venting to atmosphere through a small filter and that would then reduce the pressure in the system and that in turn would stop any pressurised oil going into the inlet manifold.
I’m not sure if the engine has a...
Just finished catching up! You’ve done a great job so far with it!
Juat a quick question on your breather system, have you got any sort of filter in the lines and have you got a filter to atmosphere? If you’re running a closed vent system it seems to me all that’s happening is it’s a pressure...
Just read your thread liking what you've done so far!
I would strongly suggest if your gonna increase your power, please please please sort your oil pump!!!
If you don't you may as well get your £££ notes that your gonna use for the remap and burn them.
Sorry to put a downer on it but it's...
