you'd be amazed at some of the things the A4 doesn't get that the A3 does. They do it to get the price in under a certain threshold for company car drivers.

If you look in the front of the windscreen at dashboard level you should see a long code number. This is the same as the one on the black plastic tag so you should be fine.

so if you're not expecting mid 40s and you're getting 38...where are you expecting it to be? My A3 as a comparrison gives an average of 48 over 99 hours, but I can cream mid 60s out of it on a drive.

i'm more than a bit confused by the current a4 3.0tdi... The manaul version is 206bhp & does 6.8 but The auto version has 226bhp & does 7.5 ? why the two different outputs?

older diesel engines used to have to be 'primed'. Thought with the new pd engines you just kept on winding it over till it fired? Defo run out of fuel? Glow plug hasn't given up the ghost has it?

I don't like the look of the sportback, think it ruins the shape of the A3, plus you can't get DSG with quattro. Guess I'll have to speak to my stealer and get a test drive.

I was initially thinking of replacing my A3 with a nearly new S4 but don't think I can put up with the fuel costs (25k miles p.a.) So I'm now looking to get a spanking A4 3.0tdi (at the moment...) Whats the auto gear box like? my A3 has the rather fantastic DSG which I know isn't available in...
