Hey everyone,
I am experiencing some strange goings on with my pulling off (not in that way) in my car. From the lights in first you can hear like a screeching sound - almost like a small wheelspin - but it isn't. Only brief and there's a slight judder. It doesn't do it all of the time, but...
Interesting... the switch that controls the bonnet alarm was replaced about 6 months ago as my alarm was going off for no reason and the dash thought that the bonnet was open. I have replaced this switch myself. And everything "had" seemed to be ok since.
So come on then... how can I test this...
Just spoken to the stealer and they have quoted me £55 +VAT for the recode of both of my keys. Which doesn't seem too bad. But it wouldn't stop the scum from rescanning and getting the code again. Hmm...
NHN - no, nothing out of the ordinary anyway (surely they've have to be sat quite close?) - that's a similar question as the dumb *** police officer asked me. The police were 100% totally useless if I'm honest, they just made out that we both must have been stupid and left the cars unlocked or...
No... I haven't. :S I have made sure that things like the doors lock, the sunroof closes using the key fob, etc...
What's the best way to test the alarm? Sit in the car, lock it and wait for it to enable and then move around? :) Or is there a more scientific way?
No both cars were on the drive outside both houses. No shared garages and/or mechanics... their car is a 2008 Ford Focus, and my car always goes to the local Audi dealer :(
I think I might call the insurance company and explain what's happened and see if they'll foot the bill of resyncing the...
Good one!! I didn't notice that either for a while... :D
Thanks for all the advice above guys. Just one more question on the subject... is it possible for the stealer to change the code that my keys use to communicate with the car? And does anyone know how much such a thing would cost?
I'm...
Phil76, f**k I didn't think about that. That will be the first thing I check when I get home.
I had assumed that they were looking for SatNav or iPod's or something... damn, now I wish I'd have driven to work today instead of cycling cos at least I could have checked these things and not got...
Hello all, it has been sometime since I've posted anything on here, but I've still been around.
I've had a very odd morning. I work up today to find the A3's drivers door open. My first thought was sh!t where is the broken window... there wasn't one. The glove box and arm rest had clearly...
yeah the engine does feel much tighter now almost like new. But then it pulls better too bcos of the turbo pipes being changes. So it could be a mix of both. I've done about 300 miles since I had the work done so I would have hoped it would have settled down by now. I'm driving to Mid Wales for...
I paid the same (£329) for the Cambelt replacement at Sheffield Audi. I had some other stuff done too (Service & Turbo seals and pipe replacement).
My only concern is that since having this work done the MPG reported by DIS has dropped massively. I could easily get 45-50 MPG before and now I'm...
Thanks Dave R! I was looking for something totally different... think I saw a post from ages ago where the lever was tooked away somewhere... I'll take a look again tomorrow and find out if that works!
Can anyone also recommend a bulb pack for the 2005 8P? I want to make sure I'm covered for...
Hey guys, I believe there is a way to alter the Zenon headlights to work in Europe (mainly France). Does anyone know how to do this? I was under the impression that there was a lever inside the headlight unit that you moved up (or down) depending on the direction required - but I had a look...
So thanks to AndyMac all I should need to swap is the Red (switched and Yellow - Thanks AndyMac!
My only other question now is the DWA-GND which is apparently an Alarm Ground. I'll have to do a full test of the alarm when the stereo is in. I wish I wasn't stuck at work today! :-(
