Thanks for the replies- I've got them ordered now thanks to Mike. Car is booked into a good mechanic- any idea how long it takes to change both of the springs? Also needs its cv joint outer gaiter replaced- I've no idea how big/hard a job that is

Thanks, like I said tps/ audi/ vw don't have an issue finding the,- it's everyone else like local car spares dealers etc. I find tps are pretty reasonable with most parts but I always try to get a few quotes. This car has had new callipers on back with discs and pads, now new springs and just...

Think I will order from tps to be safe. Surely though the rear springs on a sportback/ s-line is different than a se/sport model?

Car has failed it's mot as it needs new springs on the rear. I've been phoning around to price some up and apart from Audi/VW and tps most other parts places are struggling to pinpoint the exact part I need as there is a choice. Does anyone know the part number? Car is a 2006 2.0tfsi s-line...

How much would it cost in total to get the eibach springs fitted? My wife has mentioned she would prefer not to get another s line as she finds the ride a bit harsh at times. I'm panicking a bit as the se models just don't look any good compared to s line- although I've seen a few a6 avants...

I went from my s3 8l to my 2.0 tfsi sportback and I find it so much more practical. The boot is alot more spacious and being a 4 door it's alot easier with kids. Mine is the s line special edition and it's great- although I'm selling it in the spring because I miss the quattro

Thanks for replies. Its in garage now getting a new caliper and discs and pads put on. By the way tps vw are the way to go for parts

Is there any way of searching my specific car/model to find part numbers? Sorry for any ignorance/naivity but if you don't ask.......:)

The mechanic says that sometimes the piston can pop out too much if the pads get too worn and won't wind back?

I've got the tool and I gave it a good go but couldn't get it to budge- I did spend a couple of hours trying but between limitations of working on my drive and worrying about rounding the top of the piston I gave up. I do think if I could get a good hold of the caliper I could've freed it but...

So my rear brake caliper (driver side) has decided to stick causing my pads to go fast in fact it's pretty much scraping metal- I know I should've had them replaced before this but due to the time of year it'd been pretty much impossible to get the car booked in + kids have pretty much bankrupt...

Have you priced up pads from audi/vw? My local dealer in Elgin ( vw) can be surprisingly competitive when they want to be. My rear pads on.my sport back were a nightmare due to stuck piston
