Thanks guys. Seems like a barbaric way of installing a mount lol.
Going to try and fashion a magsafe wireless charger on to the bracket that was there, see how it looks. It's only a cheap runabout so not the end of the world to have a hole there like.
I'm guessing there's nothing else those...
Hopefully a quick one - anyone know what these cables are for?
They were hidden behind a rudimentary-looking magnetic phone holder, but but actually connected to anything...
Cheers
Cheers.
If anyone needs it, here's the complete wiring diagrams for Audi A3 8P (from May 2006 on)

hi, yes i found it and swapped for new bosch item, no change. traced it to a broken wire in the end, loom had rubbed against a hose. fixed it this weekend thanks for you help :)
Just an update in case it helps others in the future.
It was indeed where NHN said it was, I just mis-understood what he said lol. It's a bit tricky to get to but once the airbox etc was removed you can see it down on the lower large hose.
On mine, the loom had rubbed against a small hose...
Hi hopefully someone can help me on here - basically I've an issue with intake temperature sensor fault on a '56-plate 2.0 A3 with the BKD engine.
I believe the intake temperature comes from the MAP sensor, which I've replaced but still getting the fault. (Can't actually find out a definitive...
Thanks. Really struggling to find an answer for this. Definitely cant see any other sensor.
Wondering if it uses another sensor (MAF etc) for the intake temperature.
Hi again,
have just had a look and can’t see any plugs in the intake section. There’s one right next to where the air comes in, but it’s only 2 wire - looks like just an ambient air sensor?
struggling with this one!
For reference, in case anyone else re-visits this in the future - the sensor I've been testing (and found no issue with) is the MAF!
Still hoping to resolve the intake temperature fault :)
Many thanks for the quick reply again bud. This is doing my head in for sure!
The actual issue is detailed here, along with VCDS output etc: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/intake-air-temperature-sensor-g42-fault-2-0-tdi-bkd.430265
Cheers
Sorry for the delay, didn't get home til late last night. Took a photo on the way out this morning...
The sensor currently disconnected:
Can't see another sensor on this pipe:
Link to the diagram I found. Looks like item 10 could be the sensor - but it doesn't say what it is in the link...
That's about right I'd say. Seeing similar with a tdi 170 BMN engine.
With town driving the traffic has much more of an effect than the engine type tbh.
cheers mate, that is the sensor I have fitted already - albeit mine doesn't have a resistor fitted (and neither does the one on the BMN car). Maybe they're needed on a BKD...
Anyone know the value of the resistor? :eyes:
Can anyone with a BKD 8P A3 (2.0 tdi) do me a favour please?
Just want to confirm the part number for the Intake Temperature Sensor...
Not the housing, but the sensor itself. Mine is F 00C 2G2 055 - which I've replaced from a known working one from another car (but with CMN engine). All the...
