Retrofitting heated seats WITHOUT a Kufatec Loom

Good, I'm glad you got it sorted and I was able to help! it really is a ballache! For the money you pay Kufatec for the loom, I would at least expect the supplied diagram to be correct, and for the customer service to be reasonable! But they have cornered the market, and don't seem to care if...

    Rear Sub Unit

Yeah me too, it wasn't until I had the back seats done to get my mtb in that I looked back and thought 'you dozy git'.

    Rear Sub Unit

****** brilliant idea Orange225! Took me nearly three months to work out why the sub made a knocking noise around corners!! ****** me right off so I fitted that ugly grill!

    Rear Sub Unit

I did exactly this build about a ago. Car will be up for sale soon with the build still in it. I used all JL audio components with Focal audio Carbon fiber 6'' speakers all round. JL Audio have an excellent reputation for quality, the specs are good for the price, and over a year later, it still...

    V-maxx or ap coilovers?

No worries, I have no experience with the APs I'm afraid, they may be just as good or better... ;)

    V-maxx or ap coilovers?

I had V-maxx on my 8p for a year, I wish I had kept them!! The ride was pretty good for coilies and they went pretty low. I upgraded to the all singing, all dancing BC racing BR series, and even though they can do everything, go lower and offer more performance, they are not nearly as...

    Rev hang

Worth noting as well, if it is the clutch switch and you have cruise control, be careful! Normally the cruise control get knocked off When you press the clutch, but it wont do that if it's faulty...

Daves Red 3.2 Budget Build - Progress Thread

I agree with Sayam, 25 and 15 will get them out to a few mm less than where mine are, but I have had to put 225/40/18 on with a little stretch and recently rolled my rear arches to get everything to fit without rubbing.

Daves Red 3.2 Budget Build - Progress Thread

Sounds like you've got some cracking plans! I think the 18x7.5 BBS CH are ET54, but I'm sure someone will correct me if not :) I have found ET42 on 18x8.5/9.5 to be pretty much flush on the back and just a bit in on the front. So if the above offset is correct, I would have though 25mm at the...

Daves Red 3.2 Budget Build - Progress Thread

Christ that's a steal! I just paid £340 plus fitting about a month ago for Goodyear eagle F1s! Can't fault them though! Get yourself the 4 rings for the boot though! I took the other badges off mine, but the rings have to stay! Doesn't look right without them IMO.

2.0 TDI back box delete.... How loud?

Not loud at all, I have a custom 2.5 stainless cat back, so back box delete and center box delete. It sounds a bit deeper than standard at idle, and a bit louder on power but quite nice, and some lovely turbo noise on lift off :)

Im thinking of remap my a3 8p

Done 12k miles on my Darkside Developments custom remap. No issues at all. It made 180bhp and 312ft/lbs. Its a PD140 BKD on 132k miles now with one or two performance mods. Darkside said 180 was about the safe maximum on stage one, they were expecting closer to 175.

    8p1 wheel size, 8.5j fit?

All of those should be fine on the back with most tyres. On the front, et35 might need a bit of stretch but should just clear as your not too low, et42 and 45 should both be fine even with 235/40/18. If you plan on going lower, you may want a bit of stretch.

    8p1 wheel size, 8.5j fit?

As above, 8.5j et45 will fit with no stretch on the back, but will rub a bit on the front on lock over bumps. I have 8.5 et45 with 225/40/18 Goodyears on the front with no issues and 9.5 et45 with the same tyres on the back with very slight rubbing over big bumps lowered 70 odd mm.

    HYBRID TURBO OR 170PD TURBO?

From my research and speaking to Darkside, the standard pd140 nozzles will only safely do 220-230, after that you will start to risk very high EGTs. the 170 has larger injectors, so is able to make more power on just a map. Apart from the fact that the 170 turbo is not a straight swap, you will...

    BOOST PRESSURE

It should hold that peak until redline. Higher RPM = more exhaust gas passing through hot side = more boost pressure. There will of course be a greater volume of air going into the intake, but it should still hold peak boost. Mine (stage one mapped) will hold 1.8 bar from about 1600 until the...

How to: Vent mounted boost gauge for £20

That looks good mate! I didn't have any rough running, but I wouldn't worry too much if it sorted it's self out. Standard is 1.5-1.6 bar.

How to: Vent mounted boost gauge for £20

I looked into the DA100 but was put off by the price, however this looks like it's worth the price! I think I saw a big thread where these were discussed, so I may take a second look, cheers. The only major downside for me is the lack of hardware knobs! I love the volume knob on my OEM unit, how...
