I'm looking at buying a Range Rover Evoque, and trying to decide between the sound systems available
Does anyone know what the power output (ie wattage) is on the BOSE system on the A3? I know it's not the most important thing when it comes to sound quality, but just for comparison purposes I...
My biggest concern is the potential reduction in value...
I'm likely about to sell my A3 Black Edition 2.0TDI, which I assume has the engine in question.... I'll be pretty ****** off if the uncertainty about future road tax and/or recalls which may change the power, reliability or MPG of the...
Original Audi, and the 16 pin to lightning is OEM Apple, too
I've found something about the new Lightning cable, but it doesn't look like it'll fit my phone with my case on, which sucks.
Hi
I've got an AMI with my RNSe, but I've only got the old iPhone connector cable.
I got an official Apple Lightning male to 16 pin female adapter, but when I plug it into my phone I get an error "only one device can be attached at one time" and it doesn't sync the music to the car.
I was...
Umm, maybe the glow plugs are on their way out? ;)
Sounds like they're struggling to warm the cylinders up, so the second two only start once the others have done most of the work for them. Either that or your battery is on the way out.
Glow plugs are cheap, whack a new set in and see what...
Most turbos sound like a kind of slightly whistling hiss, is the best description I can think of. The police siren noise sounds like a wheel bearing has gone, but links with engine power not road speed.
Mine starts in seconds, there's definitely an issue with yours... Can you borrow a DVD off someone else and see if that works? At least you can rule out the disk quickly
It depends on the type of driving, too - mine is about to clock over 40k but most of that has been in 6th gear gently pulling along at 2500rpm on the M6. I'd rather have that than 25k around town, up and down the gears, constantly on and off the power, lock to lock steering and bouncing off...
As far as I can tell, my car handles the same if they're within about 5psi of recommended in either direction... I do drive a Quattro on the lower black edition suspension, though, I'm not sure my car knows how to lose grip unless it's on ice, and even then things just tend to get a little light.
The "needs a service" was probably my phrase, not his :p I think I just read "Haldex clutch" or something in the service book and added it to him saying the Haldex needed something at 3 years... servicing I can work out, but I've never had a Quattro before this one.
Thanks, I'm on 38/39k ish...
I've just taken my A3 in for a service and the guy mentioned the Haldex clutch needs a service at 3 years (She's a little shy of 2 and a half years old now, so obviously I declined to get it done today!).
I didn't ask him for a price, but I'm just working out how much to budget for come March...
To one tank in my 2.0TDI 170 (Quattro, if that makes any difference)
500 miles (or just shy) if I have some fun
Typically 550 (normal driving, a few overtaking manoeuvres and not being fussy about it)
600+ if I behave and drive with fuel in mind but without being anal about it
And my record is...
The 3/4 warning beeps on startup are battery related. I believe 3 is for the main battery and 4 is for the alarm siren backup battery, so would fit perfectly with the fact your battery is playing up.
Originally it had to be the OEM Apple adapter, but I believe some of the newer third party cables work too - it just took longer to copy than normal.
Look for the ones that are able to sync with a PC and it should work. The charge only ones (which was all the original ones) didn't sync as it...
It's definitely on the options list, but not many tick it so it's relatively rare.
Why? Well my theory when I bought mine was this
- I'm alone in the car 80% of the time
- I'm with just me and my girlfriend another 10%
- So that's 90% of the time where I only want one or two heated seats...
Looking good :)
I wasn't too keen on the plastidip, and you almost got a kicking when I saw the S3 badge... until I realised that wasn't your car. Is it just me, though, or does the paint look a bit dull since you removed the dip? It may just be the photo.
Loving the RS Reps, she's looking...
My MY12 A3 feels like it's on rails round a corner, and I can't see the S3 being significantly different at the same speeds. I can't fault it, I've only ever felt a lack of complete control once and I was going far too fast in the wet, even then I got a 4 wheel drift for a couple of yards and...
