MOT-Check shows it as a expired 2012 White A3. So may be a false plate.!

The controller just allows you to control the flap manually, instead of the ECU. The noise will be the same as if you were in Dynamic mode when flaps are fully open. (on the RS3, when its in reverse, noticed the flaps are open) so may be the same on S3.
