    190 TDI MPG

Currently running the TFSI 190 (40 TFSI) and very impressed with the fuel economy. 35mpg average around the city but stick it on the motorway with cruise control set to 70-80 and it will often peak above 50mpg on a long run. They take a hit with any more enthusiastic driving but living in a...

    S5 2019 onwards - Turbo Diesel

    Looking at the Audi.de website it’s a 350ps V6-Tdi. For the s6 Avant it’s stating a 0-100km time of 5s just 0.3s faster than the 55 TFSi?!

    Wheel spin on acceleration

Agreed - I’ve had adopt an extremely unnatural driving style to counter the appalling grip on offer. Next one will definitely be Quattro.

    Wheel spin on acceleration

I’ve found it a real problem with my TFSI 190 too, I’ve developed a driving style whereby I release the brake allow the car to begin moving on its own before graudally feeding in power. Even then if I’m a little too quick to put the power in it wheel spins...really not impressed with the car at...

    Tyres

I think it is a definite must have next time - I wouldn’t say I’m a particularly aggressive driver; I don’t hang about and am happy to lean on the accelerator down a country road but I don’t tear around everywhere and brake/accelerate harshly for no reason. I love the car and love driving it ...

    Tyres

I think Quattro/AWD is the way forward mine seems to spin the front wheels trying to pull off when the road is anything other than bone dry. The tyres are Conti SP 5 like Simon’s. there’s 5mm left on both the rear but the fronts were down to 1.6 and 1.74. The wear was perfectly even (or at...

    Tyres

So had my car (SB TFSi 190) today for warranty work - during the complimentary health check they’ve picked up that the tyres are down to the legal minimum tread already (car has only done 9000miles and I don’t particularly drive it hard). Has anyone else had this problem? And What tyres does...

    A5 Sportback 1.4tfsi

I guess it’s all relative, I imagine it would probably have felt quick driven back to back with my old focus however feels horrendously slow compared to the 190tfsi. Also of note the fuel consumption showing on similar drives to my normal routine is marginally worse than the 190tfsi.

    A5 Sportback 1.4tfsi

So I have the 150tfsi as a courtesy car for the day today all I can say is seriously underwhelmed...the engine is weak and makes the hesitant gearbox issue even worse bordering on dangerous I’d say. Twice alreadyI’ve had to apply the brakes heavily trying to pull out into a gap on a roundabout...

    My A5 Small improvements

It definitely improves in sport/dynamic as it seems to sit at least one gear lower than the other modes most of the time. I tend to drive it in comfort as it seems to react better than eco (though still slow) with no visible loss of fuel economy then I knock the gear lever back to engage sport...

    My A5 Small improvements

Fuel economy wise I drive the 2.0 TFSI the last decent motorway run I did was when I first got it and it did 55mpg between Somerset and Leeds - I was highly impressed as it wasn’t a million miles away from the 1.6 diesel focus I came from. Day to day around a very busy city I tend to get...

    A/C Issue

Not experienced that particular problem but the system does seem extremely agricultural. On the focus I used to set 18/19 on a warm day and 20/21 on a cold one and aside from maybe using a higher temperature initially to get the heat flowing I wouldn’t need to touch it again, I constantly seem...

    Window malfunction S5 SB

Interesting, the frameless windows look fantastic but like you say they’re a pain!! My issue was with the passenger door, on shutting the window was coming up before the door was fully closed and shutting outside the door seal, I wonder if it ever dropped when I opened the door now. Re-opening...

    Window malfunction S5 SB

Just had this issue on my a5 sportback - 18 registered but ordered in Oct 17 so unsure if this makes it MY17 or MY18. I suspect it may be due to cold temperatures and the fact I washed it yesterday, potentially I’ve not dried one of the seals properly and the window has stuck. the fault...

    New Arrivals / Pictures

Very nice, the scuba blue is a gorgeous colour! S32B, thanks for the advice I’ve spent the last couple of days researching detailing and think I’m slowly starting to build a picture of how to take care of it! Previously I’ve always just used the bucket and sponge method (or taking it to the...

    New Arrivals / Pictures

Yeah I discovered today whilst giving the car a quick hose down to remove the worst of the salt/dirt that I'm not certain it's been applied properly, the water beads off really well in certain areas and sticks to the car in others (coincidentally the worst areas for dirt, rear bumper, wheel...

Cheers, I'll get some on order, it won't affect the warranty on the lifeshine the dealer applied will it? I can imagine the piano black being a nightmare - the mrs already has to remove any jackets etc when getting in! I'm hoping just taking care and keeping on top of it will do the trick...

    New Arrivals / Pictures

Exactly the problem I'm having right now - it looks like it's been driving on gritted roads for weeks! Love the way it looks black from one angle and blue from another depending on how the light hits it. The dealer threw in autoglym lifeshine so hopefully it will return to its former glory once...
