Thanks v8. Interesting especially with other bits needing fixing not just the turbo especially the cat.
I went to my dealer yesterday and spoke to mechanic dealing with my S3. He is waiting for new turbo unit on order from Germany. I showed him a short video i had taken of my intermittent...
Update from dealer. They reckon Turbo has gone but that doesn't really explain (in my mind) the recent "slipping" type sensations. I guess the turbo could have made that graunchy shrieky noise though? They cannot test anything else anyway until they get the engine running. Perhaps it's two...
Sorry for lack of updates for some time. A major update though on what I think is the same issue?
This issue was never solved and remained as an occasional intermittent problem. A few times it seemed to affect the drive of the car ie revs increasing without proportionate increase in road...
My unexpected surprise is when using the efficiency mode (in S3 with S-tronic) which I have tinkered with a couple of times - I really love the deep sound as the engine revs drop right away to idle as it goes into coasting mode - and then when you apply throttle again it sounds good as it...
I do hope it's something silly like a heat shield rattle or rub. Only driven about 20 miles today and for first part of journey couldn't hear any repeat of the noise. Once it was warmed up I heard it a few times but not quite as obvious as yesterday. I am wondering as I had done 80 plus miles...
No it's not like that noise Veeight.
It was only a slight rattle a couple times. More of a graunching ! ( bit of a low pitched squeal almost) very hard to describe. Perhaps I can try a video/ sound recording over the weekend.
Yes it could be more of a rubbing noise xrkt77 although I haven't...
After just over 3 weeks and 1400 miles I seem to have an issue with my S3 :3sadwalk:
Several times yesterday I noticed an unusual sound when driving - wasnt quite sure as it was only a couple of times and it was hard to hear but it was enough to arouse my suspicions. There was no noticeable...
Thanks I look forward to hearing what you find out. I can sort of accept the Apple iPhone issue - but that brings using (or not as is currently the case) my onboard sim for calls/messages into focus as an issue!
Whether I have a good enough data connection for the text dictation is possible...
Directly related to the issue of the SIM cards plugged in to our cars.
Pg 61 of the brochure and pages within the MMI Nav System Plus car handbook both describe various features available from the SIM in the car.
Firstly that this SIM can also be used for phone calls and texts. I have a...
I like the S/S system now I am used to it but have to agree with you - quite a few times I have jumped out of my skin when it suddenly starts up on its own! then I would laugh at myself :D
If you read the latest Top Gear Magazine which includes a review of the new Golf R - it explains that the two inner pipes are used all the time and the outer pipes only come in to play above 2500rpm :)
With the Golf R being such a closely related cousin of the S3 this would explain what's...
The "blue book" (Roadcraft) is the basis of all Police driver training - "Standard" and "Advanced". Yes it certainly is a useful read for anyone and some useful things can be picked up quite quickly from it however to apply the "system" properly really does take weeks of tuition and practice...
The brochure is very clear that the normal tech pack doesnt have the wifi hot spot feature - its only the high with Audi connect version. Perhaps you could go back to your salesman and see what he says about it now? (especially if that's a key reason why you upgraded and its an extra £1000 on...
When I start up I always use the lap time DIS display to monitor the oil temp until it's about 80. So can the dealer change the set up to show oil temp on other DIS screens too? Is this the vcds settings?
