    Edinburgh Indie for Cambelt change

Witherspoons in Dean Village or Autohaus in Loanhead ( I use them now because they're handier to get to). Both Audi specialists who know their stuff.

    Disable headlight washers only?

On my old b7 the windscreen and headlight washers were on the same fuse and relay. I put a switch in the engine bay to break the earth to the headlight pump which meant I could switch them back on for MOT time. Invariably I forgot though - but it never failed. If they actually cleaned the...

front windowscreen badly fogging up, think i have a possible water leak?

Cabin/pollen filter could be worth a look.

    bye bye google satellite overlay

Still working for me, there's a post on one of the other threads to the effect that it many only be temporary though - who knows!

Test drives - spotting a dog?

My b7 had 4 previous owners in 4 years, I've owned it for 9 with no issues, tempting fate here but it's been the most reliable car I've ever owned. Some folks fancy something a bit different, in my case a cabby, then realise it's not for them. In some cases could still be the sign of a dog I...

    Bye Bye S3

Haha, everyone used to say that, but it was quite a surprise at how quickly the novelty wore off and some of the cars were a real chore, I used to really hate Lambos - torture chambers on wheels :-) I retired quite young from my real job and was just doing it for beer money, it was good for a...

    Bye Bye S3

I'm not sure if it was your intention but that makes me sound like a gullible **** who's been taken in by some glossy adverts? Either way I'm not bothered, I've driven literally 100s of cars and made my decision based purely on what I wanted and what we were willing to spend. FWIW I was...

    Bye Bye S3

No doubt an age thing but I can't see me going back to a 'normal' car now. Just after I bought the SQ5 I got a p/t job delivering Porsches (and other exotics) and immediately hankered after a Macan GTS, even got the numbers done! The Cayenne was a surprisingly good drive as well but it's not a...

    Winter wheels

I'd say go for it. I've got a couple of 'clockwork' (seems to be the phrase now) MTBs but after having a go on an electric one I was hooked. The Specialized Levo was top of the hit list but the Mrs wasn't too keen parting with that much cash, even with the 3 years IFC. She started to warm to the...

    Winter wheels

Took awhile but eventually got my winters done satin black. Just changed the A4 from PS4s to Crossclimates so will be interesting to see how they compare.

    bye bye google satellite overlay

I paid about £350 for 'connect' purely for the google overlay so not too chuffed about loosing it. IMO it's a lot better than the standard cartoon channel. My 12 month data sim has just run out, probably not worth buying another until this is bottomed out one way or another.

    Bye Bye S3

Just curious why any A4/A6 avant or indeed an A7 BT 313 bhp, 650NM 'beast' would be a better tow car option than a geriatric SQ5 plus 340 bhp with 700NM? PS Caravan was my wife's idea - I fancied a new tent!! PPS retire before 50 - I recommend it :-) PPPS 2 years beer money job delivering...

    Bye Bye S3

That's a bit harsh, some might ask what's the point of an RS, expensive, poor handling (compared to proper sport's cars) less fuel efficient and are they really that much quicker A to B? Not me obviously - I still quite fancy an RS6 :-)

Doubt it, mine were just sprayed and look fine, powder coating should be even tougher?

Has anybody done ''regasing'' due to AC not working ?

Mobile 'regasser' came to my house, he sooked the system dry, pressure tested it, dried it out and regassed. Did my brother-in-law's at the same time, think it was about £50 each, bargain IMO.

    Factory fit towbar

Coincidentally I've got a Hymer as well, a 545 luxusline - with a dometic fridge! If it's still getting power from the caravan battery when the 12v isolator is flipped off (not 100% certain but don't think mine does) I think you'll be fine so long as the car is charging the van battery?
