Don't try and lever them off like i did as you'll crack the screen!!!
with lots of plus gas they should wiggle off by holding the arm and moving up and down rather than trying to pull them straight off (if you know what i mean)
That's good going mate, must be hard work!
Best I've had is about 450 from a tank but only ever managed to put 60 litres back in (is mine 66l as well?)
I know this is a bit of a thread hijack sorry but thought i'd update on my heating issues.
As adamss24 confirmed thermostat problem being unlikely for me and vcds (lite) showed temps of high 80's i started chasing the possibility of heater temp flap problems,
Next problem VCDS won't communicate...
great correction with a da can be hard work on tough vag paint. Can't believe the reflections you got with good old fk on top, first pic blew me away. You on detailing world as well?
Mine is currently on 179500 miles and going strong (touch wood)
Going to have to join in the Derv v Petrol debate;
Having driven plenty of Pd130 pool cars at work I was amazed at the performance and economy combo of this motor so had to move to diesel for next car, now the V6tdi is not a PD130...
Edited my original post mate it's North London not East for adamss24.
not used VCDS/Vagcom myself but get over to Rosstech for some info, has too be full version though not a £8.99 off ebay lite job
If you've only put it back together by marking the belt and pulley on the pump then it's 99% the culprit, the timing has to be checked and adjusted electronically for sure, if you have VCDS then you can do it yourself or get yourself round to North London and see "adamss24" on the forum he's a...
look in the back of handbook, think it may depend on the precise engine variant, mine is a 180bhp quattro sport with AKE engine and that takes 5.5Litres, you'll have to buy 6 but then you got 1/2 litre spare to keep in the boot for top-ups:thumbsup:
I'd feared it might be a dash out job!!!!
Gauge sits in the middle at a constant "audi 90 deg" so hope the stat is ok - I wonder if reseting the motor has anything to do with the AC temps not syncronising? i.e. drivers control doesn't alter passengers temp (thought you could reset this by...
cheers for the reply mate, i was sure you'd said you'd changed the stat with the belts for Marius - yet another reason for me to get hold of VCDS (but cash is tight right now-kids chrimbo presents more important than vcds unfortunately)
what's the temp control flap then?:detective2:
ps i have...
got the same problem on my c5 the heating will only ever get warm not hot and in this weather it's a pain in the backside! Thing is my belts were changed not that long ago and stat at same time so how long till they stop working or could it be something else?
