Brilliant thread, and attention to detail is top notch. Please tell me you're not putting in halogen projector headlights when you get to that stage. Did the car have xenon headlights as an option?
Taken from one of my Facebook Audi Forums. I don't know the person, but they've just had three cars all stolen from the same address last night in Darlington. Pretty distinctive cars including B5 RS4, 2016 RS3 and a VW van. Just in case they crop up for sale in your neck of the woods.

Agree with aragorn. They're fine for California, but in our weather and salt-laden road they deteriorate quickly. If you've set your sights on them, then The Wheel Specialist in Aberdeen do a fantastic job. It's a franchise, so suspect Derby is just the same.
Try Collinite 476S Billy. Goes on and comes off a treat. Menzerna 203S is a mild cut polish, again very easy to use if you want to try different products. Nice job by the way.
The B5 Avant shape is such a classic, that most people make the mistake of trying to get alloys that compete for attention. The S4 alloys compliment the car in my opinion without going over the top, such as Lamborghini Gallardo alloys for example.
Agree regards Audi build. Sold my B5 V6 locomotive last year at 165k miles. Wings were starting to rust, plus road tax wasn't getting any cheaper.
Can't help regards engine choices. I'm an oil-burner fan myself. Regards Quattro, it's fairly bullet proof. At 100k miles drop the rear differential...
If you're getting timing belt done, then change water pump and thermostat at the same time. Only use genuine Audi thermostat. Regards wings, avoid EBay rubbish. Genuine parts only. Worth coating inside with rust inhibitor.
The bottom door trims corrode internally. Whip them off and replace...
When removing the rear allen hex bolts, always hammer in the hex-key first to dislodge any rust or corrosion so it sits snug. Poorly fitting hex-key will strip head as soon as you put pressure on it otherwise.
Oil starvation will ruin the engine even over a short distance. Assuming the low oil sensor works, then the only real way to determine what was in it would be to drop the sump plug and measure what comes out. The S4 uses 5.7 litres, so if it was just drips rather than something more serious then...
Could source from a breaker yard but that comes with its own set of issues, depending on mileage, damage, etc.
Still available in US. You'll have to pay postage and potential tax.

£1,250 to £1,400 tops in my opinion. The fact the timing belt has been done will be bonus, but you'll get the usual time wasters who want it for under a grand. At the end of the day it's an old car and an even smaller niche group of people who are looking to buy it.
Agree completely. The halogen lights are truly shocking. I've seen more light coming from an 8 year old's birthday cake with half the candles already out!
Interesting thread. Fast forward a few months after all the mechanical work is done, are you fitting one piece headlights, and what about gun-metal grey roof rails to match the alloys? Too much bling? Understated rear roof spoiler on the cards too?
