    Seems like a lot of work for a possible low gain. I'm sure someone on here put a 6speed in their 1.8t fwd and said they could reach over 400miles per tank. This is why I was looking into it.

    Cheers chaps, it was just a thought thats all as i do a lot of Mway miles and thought it might help as the 6th gear has been know for economy. If i could get an S4 box and diff it should all work then :)

    I believe you doc, i had a problem with him would not refund me for the wrong Power steering pump after many many PMs etc. He then had the cheek to say I returned it in broken condition when i had never even used it.

    I couldn't find a dead fuse, it could be the stalk but the rear wiper and the front washer still works.

    You will notice a difference with a decat mainly on the MWay i notice the difference at higher RPM not anyother time tbh.

    The 96 only has one sensor in the exhaust i think. Not sure what thats for. If there is a loss of power when dirving it could be the wastegate, my penny from the wastegate was missing. Do you have access to vag-com of someone with it?

    Idle problems can be caused by a any of the vacuum hoses being split. Also there is a large breather under the intake which can split open. Check them all for signes of perrishing. The wining noise even when the keys are not in is strange. The central locking pump is at the rear on the...
