I had the front end of mine re painted for stone chip reasons before I did my grille (wrapped the chrome surround bit in the end). Just put a few towels down under the front end of the car, or cushions or whatever you can find.
Personally I'd just remove the bumper, once you've done it for the first time it's a piece of cake - just take care of the headlamp washers hose. There's a 'how-to' on this I believe anyway ...
Yeah, rip the old one out if you're chucking it away - clip the new one in. No need to remove bumper if, as said above, you don't want to keep the old one.
have you spaced you wheels or do the RSTT's sit that much wider than the 17" Avus? (Looking at the pics on previous page of your winter wheels vs RSTT's)
Hi all,
Just wanted to know if anyone has had a Fox catback fitted to their S3? Tried searching but nothing came up, they seem more in my price range than a Milltek at the moment. Unless anyone has a second hand milltek i can take off their hands of course!
Thanks
Yea go for it, or source a second hand one and paint it before and just do a straight swap so as not to have to leave the car without a cam cover whilst painting.
Yeah, mine was from turbo area usually upon start / warm up but also after pushing it hard.
To rule it out I'd replace the cam cover gasket anyway. Most likely is the cause though!

Sitting on BBS rims, grey leather interior and missing one of your tail pipe tips / caps to a headlight washer.
Not seen it around before though, anyone on here? I live on the corner of the next...
hi all,
Just wondering out of curiosity if anyone knows what volume of oil the range min to max on the oil dipstick equates to? I assume 1L is this roughly correct?
Cheers

Hi all,
My first S3 went to Audi for some scanning and they changed out all the coil packs as part of a recall thing, but I'm aware this only applies to post 2000 models. I now have a 1999 APY and so why does the recall not apply to my model?
Also, anyone know the part numbers and a rough cost...
Bought mine back in September 2013 on 77500 for £5k and it was a true testament to the previous owner of 11 years being in mint condition apart from a few stone chips (which ive had all resprayed now)
Now on 85k only replaced DV, rocker cover and cam chain adjuster gaskets, some split tubing...
Mileage that low surely means its been stood most of its life - garaged or not - mechanical things should be used often to avoid deterioration just as much not using them will avoid deterioration. There's clearly a fine line there, but I wouldn't buy a 14 year old car with that low miles...
Yesterday around 12:30 pm saw an Imola Yellow pre-facelift (I think) with facelift rear lights, female driver in Portsmouth heading up the hill towards the traffic lights outside Asda. Reg: S3 ***
I was in mine going the other way down the hill toward the roundabout.
anyone on here??
