Someone with VCDS will be able to check if you have a boost leak, the S3 is prone to them, the smoke tester will then pin point where the leak is.
The coil packs are also prone to fail after a remap if they are not new, I always ask customers to get new coil packs fitted on an S3 before a remap...
Its a long drive from Cornwall to Bills, get someone to check your car with VCDS ( and have a smoke test if vcds shows the need for one.) sort all boost leaks and faults before you go.

My A3 ASZ Quattro cut out under hard acceleration and wont restart.
A look under the bonnet and the air intake pipe had come off between the maf and the aluminium air intake pipe, put it back on and

Hi All,
In reply to some of the sugestions:
It still has the AMK file in the ecu, when the mechanic changed the engine he just changed the engine.
We want to push this engine so want the right software on the ECU to use the VVT properly.
I have put a fresh Audi BAM file (8N0906018J) on, and...

Really want the correct ECU software in place to start with.
There is no hunting...
Hi,
I am helping a friend who has had the BAM engine fitted to his s3, I read the ecu to see what software it is running and it still had the 210bhp ECU flash.

Hi,
I have just had some new brakepads (mintex) fitted on the front and they are getting very hot without any 'hard' braking, is this usual ? Or are the calipers in need of repair / replacement ?
Many thanks for any replys.
Myke
You could swap your front and rear tyres and see if it still happens , I guess your front have more tread hence rear wheel skid not front wheel skid, which do you prefure ;o)
