Thats good power for just a cat back exh and remap, must of been a cold day lol but yeh I would suspect a weak actuator, but never rule out boost and vac leaks.
I would be more worried about the miles on the haldex than the engine. The 1.8 20vT is a strong engine, and with a good maintenance routine should last forever and a day.
The haldex..... Not so much.
First off I know of a thread that boasts that the v4 can be fitted with the head in situ, but unable to find so called thread.
Secondly I doubt you would make more power just by fitting it as the ecu adjusts to keep things in line (dbw that is), the engine will just breath better and make the...
Hey S3HGV, glad you read the stickies, its a pet peeve of the locals on here not to look in the stickies lol however I found this in the stickies from a derv lover http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/guide-how-to-fit-a-catch-can-and-simplify-the-pcv-system.118021/
But in that link is a...
Yeh it can be a tooth out and run seeminly fine, its usually due to the pin that holds the cams in place whilst changing the belt that compresses and put it a tooth out, thats why only v.a.g mechanics that know these engines should do a cam belt change.
Hi Lewis,
I would try clearing the codes and going from there, if they come back on then there may be a problem, but I wouldnt say a major one.
First off cam position sensor is a common fault and secondly so is s****y wires for the engine loom, mainly to the coil packs due to pulling at them...
Cambelt is a serious situation, too many muppets out there that have done a cambelt change on a corsa think its the same as a 20vT. Its not! Get a decent v.a.g mechanic to do the job, you may pay £150+ more but itl be done right. Thats my 2p anyway.
Wrong section I would say.
* my bad, its me in the wrong section lol what a numty lol
Yes the s3 8p is immense, not the same epic sound as the 3.2 but sound just as evil.
Hello there, its seems as tho its the same as doing the brake switch, follow this guide http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1158315&page=1 and i dont think you will go too wrong aslong as you have the right tools and can follow basic written instruction. Clutch pedal snapping is common...
Thanks will give that a check, cant do no harm. I think its more likely the selector linkage on the top of the box, i know these are a common issue.
Also can anyone tell me what alloys these are? Are they just standard? He is looking sell them and buy some rs4 reps.
Good afternoon all, a friend of mine has bought a R reg silver a3 1.8t sport. Looks an honest enough car but I just thought id do abit of research on it and ask a question on his behalf.
So he bought it from rugby and he is really happy due to the low price he paid, the bumpers look abit of a...
My gues would be Tip £50-70 in used condition, which manifold? Oem Exhaust mani with no cracks again £50 maybe abit more, inlet mani without injectors and seats £30-50. Down pipe and decat used £70-80 for the pair. And the ecu is worth the map price you paid and £100-150 maybe. And what...
Its the fact youv asked if you can make it sound like a boxer engine, thats like saying can i make it sound like a V6 or V12 or a ****le or 2 stroke lawnmower, the fact is they are completley diffrent and have inherant traits due the their design.
So if you have a 1.8t then its good to get it...
Ah leave the poor chap alone lmao. But yeh forget about making it sound like a subaru.
If its a 1.8t then get it sounding like a very exspensive dyson that when on full chat hoovers up small children :)
If its a non turbo a3, then sell it and buy a 1.8t.
