A weekend car? The S3?? How come ???
I was just thinking today how much I missed the S3 in this weather, and quite fancy one as a daily beater! (if only I could afford to run one as a beater!)
I went from the S3 with quattro, to an S2000 with RWD. The car is only 5 weeks old, but I would say this; the quattro is easier to throw around corners, and drive faster through corners as you know it will look after itself, so in day to day stuff probably quicker.
If driven properly probably...

Is there some reason you'd feel less safe with a woman !!
How come it got "kinda scary" when other cars changed lanes then? If you were 100% in control of the situation there wouldn' thave been a scary moment surely?

I'd point out that the system is also different from the competition as it allows quick and easy adjustments to the code follwoing other performance additions carried out by AMD.. Maybe it's not a bad product for them afterall - customer loyalty required?

My Timing Chain / Cam Belt went at 20k miles on the S3 - apparantly a common problem with S3's and TT's - probably different with the A3 though - like Andy said, S3's just have a pair of old tights
Camera footage is no good - I went through this recently. After an incident on the motorway I phoned the Highways Agency - they do have camera's but due to data protection they are not allowed to store the footage.
The police can store the footage but only if it affects the road network.!
It's probably the "indicator relay"......
My indicators went half-way to Manchester (yes that damn cursed S3!). Called Audi Assist and they fixed it while I was in my meeting in Manchester - I had to use my hand to indicate
Apparantly it's a common fault.........
I test drove a Type R at the w/e and was disappointed, felt totally gutless until 6k rev's then it picks up a bit. I was surprised as I thought it would feel nippy!
This is where the Road Angel is fitted on my car - you can see it's not that obtrusive.
THe other thing near it is the holder for the ipaq (GPS Navigation!!!!)
Our leasing company are very inflexible - they offer you a price (usually fairly high), and you either accept or don't - no negotiation as they know they will get decent money at auction usually.
