The x35d engine is a beast when remapped and will still return decent economy, especially if you compare that to the cars mentioned above. Like I said, it ticks a lot of boxes.

The S3 went 3 years ago. Might be a bit late now. I'm on my second car since the S3! The BMW 535d ticks most of my boxes. Fast, economical, fun, comfortable, big enough for the kids and all their sh!te. I do miss the S3 though.

I had that same issue with one of my wheel speed sensors. I'd fitted it myself and it wasn't quite seated correctly which meant at speeds under 10mph there was no reading from it and the ABS would pulse. In VCDS I could view live data of all 4 wheels and I could see one of the rears went blank...
No, never got to the bottom of this but to be honest I never had a good look at it as it was for a guy at my old work place. He ended up selling it as it was at the time.

That wonderful MS paint pic of mine you posted was my first setup before I changed it to vent to atmosphere instead of putting all the muck back into the TIP, therefore back into the engine and reducing octane in the fuel.
