If you are all talking about the same guy is his name Chris?
Been trying to get hold of him for the last 3 months but no joy.
Even his mobile is inactive so all I can guess is that they've either gone under or moved. Landline number the same but no one picks up.
best place in my opinion for the EGT is in the manifold .
had one in my last car and it worked really well as always a good idea to keep an eye on the egt's
right latest update changed the thermostat today and all is good with the heater now and the gauge is working on the dash.
all i can say is that its an absolute pig of a job so wont be doing that again to soon.
next is sort the alarm horn out or should i say send the dealer the bill for it and...
Right picked the car up and so far these are the faults ive found so far bearing in mind the car was bought from a dealer.
Alarm siren dont work
Water temp gauge not reading (sensor)
Will update if i find anything else.
Ive been told its had a clutch but no paperwork to prove it.
Might try bleeding it first but if its still the same then i guess its had a recent clutch.
hi everyone
i have just picked up my 2001 s3 with 120k on the clock which overall i am very pleased with.
the only this i have noticed is that the clutch seems to bite almost on the floor is this normal for these cars.
thanks
Hmmmm i wonder if the mounting point will be the same.
Should be a interesting exercise to see if the one off the v6 is a straight swap with only minor mods which would be superb
Ok thanks for that we will see if there is any interest or not and go from there.
This sump guard on my golf has saved it many times due to those dam speed bumps where i live.
Would have probably cost me a fortune by now if i didnt have one.
Do the sumps on the s3 sit as low as the golf ??
Ok i was just asking if there was any interest as i am going to get one made for my self and a mate who has a s3 aswell.didnt mean it to read as if i was arrangeing one.
At the moment its just an idea.
Hi everyone
i know i am a newbie on here but wondered if anyone would be interested in a replacement ally sump cover to replace the standard plastic one.
i got some made up for my v6 4motion and did a group buy on the ukmkiv forum a while ago.
this is what it look like for the golf so...
well it didn't take long I found one yesterday on a Y plate all original and unplayed with just had a new turbo and clutch plus master cylinder.
inside is mint with no signs of wear even though its got 120k on the clock.
