Big Al picked up the downpipe and exhaust parts today so shall be with nick tomorrow :) not the prettiest of welds, I'm a bit out of practice! But they're functional, everything is sealed up nicely and no big areas of burn through to ruin the flow
Still love when they sent me a damn galvanized steel joiner instead of the ali one I needed (and ordered) to weld into the rest of my ali boost pipes...
I tried claiming back from ebay and they wormed their way out of it claiming they only claimed it was "alloy" and not aluminium alloy despite...
I think the are a few pictures of mine in the pictures of your 8l thread in the stickies, might have to go back a few pages though, haven't owned it for going on 18 months now.
Found the part number for you

Metal is just metal! I'll grind them all flush then re-weld over them to give them a better looking "cap" and make sure everything is sealed. Should be able to touch up the inside where I can reach it as well
Am i right in thinking you're still around the SW kinda area? If so then let me know once you've got the jig all sorted, i'm sure i can lend some of my time to pop over and assist with the welding if need be. TIG welder qualified up to nuclear standards ;)
I can't wait to get a track toy so i can have some adventures like this. My a3 used to give me some jip with the boost pipes blowing off but the s4 is too reliable (at the moment) for any shenanigans. I'm buying my new house and the main thing I've told the missus is that it needs off road...
Forge ones require servicing every year approx £20 for a service kit. Can almost buy a new oem valve for that every year. And the oem one has been proven to work on high power used and abused cars
