No it doesn't. On b9's needs to be rotated so that the tabs are vertical and the pull. Longitudinal you ll see thats where the tabs lock into place. Yes other generations you just pull.

Correct, the EA837 V6 engines in the B8 (3.2L, 3.0T) use a dipstick tube with no orientation specifics...
How do I remove this dipstick cap. It's sort of looks oval/ ridges are different at say 9 and 3 o'clock lol.
I tried lifting tabs a bit on each side but didn't wanna break it....
