Na I'm no interested in doing DIY jobs myself, I've not long mastered tying my shoe laces so playing about with brakes is a big no no lol. Your about 500 miles away from me but feel free to pop up and help me out lol. I'll supply ya with tea and biscuits :-)
But after slamming on the brakes the squeaking stops completely, they won't squeak at all whether it be light braking or heavy braking. But leave the car parked up for an hour or so and then the squeaking returns????????
Would moving pads not make a clonking noise instead of a squeaking noise?
Sounds like too much work for me lol. Think I'll just book it in with my local vag specialist. I don't trust myself when it comes to brakes. Sounds like a routine job so I doubt it would take a mechanic long. Half an hour or so?
Pads are fine mate, had inspection service done in December and was told there's plenty of life in the pads. Anti squeal grease? I have heard of this. Where about's do you apply the grease?
For the last couple of weeks or so I've noticed my brakes have been making a horrible squeaking noise. The noise starts when I lightly use the brakes (eg around town, slowing down for junctions etc) but disappears when I put more pressure on the break pedal. They will squeak all the way around...
The quattro badge on the bottom of the grill looks great. The number plate looks ridiculous in my opinion but if you like it then that's all that matters.
The 1.8TFSI is a sound engine but as MartyA4 has just posted it might be worth keeping an eye on your oil consumption since you've not long had the car lol. I'm sure it will be fine though. Welcome to the forum by the way.
What engine have you got just out of interest? I've got the 1.8TFSI (160) and it doesn't use much oil at all. The 2.0TFSI is the problematic engine for oil consumption. To use the mmi all you do is once you have the engine up to operating temperature, park on level ground, turn engine off, wait...
