Just for some perspective, it ended up costing me £600 for a full service.
Sump removal (new gasket + bolts)
Filter and strainer
Atf change
+Manual transmission oil change
+Rear diff oil change
Most of that cost is parts, the oils are particularly expensive.
Internal filter/strainer (0B5325429E)
Thats the internal filter for the early ones I believe.
Cooling filter (0B5325330A)
Cooling filter o-ring (WHT005499A)
That should be the external filter that would be replaced during a normal service.
Cars booked in 8th of March @The Automatic Gearbox Centre. Sent them a long list of parts I wanted replaced, essentially full S-tronic service, gear oil change and rear diff oil change.
I will update with parts and prices once it is done. Provisional quote is £400 +VAT though I suspect that...
I'm based in East Sussex, I plan to use "The Automatic Gearbox Centre" in Brighton/Hove. I already spoke to them on the phone and explained what I wanted doing... They have experience with these cars and seem really friendly and reputable.
I just need to get a parts list sent over to them so I...
Thanks, that confirms the standard service Audi provide and that they do not remove the sump and replace the internal filter/strainer under normal circumstances. Useful to know for anyone, like myself who wants to get the whole lot done for peace of mind.
Hi All,
As per the title, I would like to create a thread containing all the information needed to make sense of the servicing requirements for the B8's S-tronic gearbox. Many threads exist on the matter which I have spent the last few days reading, unfortunately this has lead to confusion due...
Just a quick update, got carrista and checked the launch control counter (zero launches as expected)..
Thought I'd test to see if it now has launch control.. It does. I was quite surprised the needle seemed to settle just over 4k rpm. Also surprised when I let off the brake.. Felt very quick...
Thanks for the input Dippy. I fully intend on doing some more testing etc to fully get to grips with the new tune. The nature of my questions was more to try and establish if there were some known changes produced by the tcu tune that may cause some of the symptoms I have described. Since MRC...
Yeah that's true enough, I mentioned the upshift noise on here because I thought if it was mapped out more people would have mentioned it. I couldn't conceive that it would be mapped out though, I did a fair few spirited upshifts and didn't hear it. I wish I'd realised sooner so I could have...
At the time my tyre pressures were around 36.5psi front and 36psi rear when I measured them cold a few days before. 255 35 19 PS4s that have covered about 800 miles.
Ah right, I'm probably underestimating it. I'll definitely do some more testing in that case.. It's just a shame about the exhaust noise, I can't get my head round that.
Hi,
Yes that was me with the blue avant!
That answers some of my questions, thanks.
I'm still not sure about the gear change noise though, it used to only occur at high rpm gear changes when Wot. But now there is no exhaust noise on gear changes at any rpm infact the exhaust note in...
Hi All,
I had my 2009 s4 avant MRC'd on Friday, as far as I can tell there were no issues with the mapping and the car made 473ps so relatively healthy..
The issue comes with the way the gearbox now behaves. At a high rpm gear change pre-mapping the exhaust would make a noticeable 'farting'...
Hi all,
I bought my S4 back in December and it has the 20 x 8.5j rs4 replica alloys fitted.. The p zero's that are on it are down to about 3mm and the grip is shocking especially in the wet.
Been searching for a while but can't find a definitive answer as to correct tyre size. The current...
