Remapped 1.8TFSI (120) still doesn't feel that quick

No, I am taking it to my local garage to get him to look and see about replacing fuel filters etc. Yes something is definitely wrong but I'm not sure it's the map as I've had two separate maps with the same results. My engine management light came on last night and my ODB reader found that my...

Remapped 1.8TFSI (120) still doesn't feel that quick

I'm sure mine is an isolated incident as I have googled a number of times and no one else has commented about problems.

Remapped 1.8TFSI (120) still doesn't feel that quick

Hey guys, I have a 2010 1.8 TFSI (120) B8 which had the engine rebuild work done by Audi in 2016, since then never lost a drop of oil and it's ran perfect, now on 67k miles so relatively low. I decided recently to have it remapped as the 120 is well known for going to 200-210bhp with it being...

    Carista App

I recently bought an ODB2 reader from Ebay but Carista doesn't seem to want to do anything with it, although the Torque app works fine with it :(

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

I had a similar thing. I said to Hull Audi, please change the tensioner if it needs it at my expense (I should have said please change it anyway), and they did the work and the answer I got was "The engineer said that the tensioner didn't need changing as it was the second revision tensioner so...

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

Can anyone recommend a way of me finding out if my cam chain tensioner is in good condition? I really want to remap my 1.8TFSI having had the engine rebuilt by audi but don't want to put the tensioner under more stress if it's knackered. Cheers!

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

Yeah, and I didn't. I stupidly asked them to get the engineer to look at it and tell me whether it wanted replacing rather than just insisting! Flipping idiot :( God knows how much it will be to do it now.

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

F*** sake I just wish I insisted that they changed my cam chain tensioner for £45 instead of asking if they recommended it :(

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

It's literally the easiest job in the world, takes 5 minutes! As said above, put a pair of gloves on and yank the ******** off lol. I found twisting whilst pulling helped them come off with minimal fuss really. So glad I did it, it sets the car off!

Sounds strange. Was it some sales person who doesn't know what they're talking about do you think? P.S. I treat my A4 to some new tailpipe tips last week, now that it's fixed, I think they look great!

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

SUCCESS! My 2010 1.8 TFSI A4 has been fully repaired completely free of charge by Hull Audi. I picked it up on Friday and there is no smoke coming from the exhaust like before, when I put my foot down it is completely clean unlike previously when it looked like I was driving a diesel. They...

Is this recommended? I've only seen people in here saying about the tensioner, this is getting expensive lol.

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

Well partially good news for me. Audi have agreed to completely cover the cost of an engine rebuild for me, and this is with sketchy service history: First service minor 12k Main dealer Second service minor 24k Main dealer Third service major 36k local garage Fourth service major 53k local...

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

That's a relief @T.Lloyd, hopefully bodes well for me. My only slight worry is I don't have great service history. Last service before I bought the car was at 36k and as soon as I bought the car I put a full service on it @ 53k. We'll see what they say when they ask for history. Again if...

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

Can someone explain to me why excessive oil consumption would affect the cam chain tensioner? That bit I don't get. Just as a reference, with mine being the 1.8TFSI, Audi UK actually fobbed me off saying that engine was "included" in the whole oil consumption subject, but luckily the dealer has...

That's encouraging. Was it the dealer who said it would be getting done for free or Audi UK?

2.0 TFSI Known Oil Consumption problem - 2015 ongoing thread (2009-2011 models)

Update from Audi UK, whom I've just been on the phone with. I spoke to a chap called Mark and he said that they don't recognise the 1.8TFSI as an effected engine, only the 2.0TFSI, so I would have to foot the bill for any work done. I challenged this and he said whatever I've read is wrong. I...
