Remapped 1.8TFSI (120) still doesn't feel that quick

I had a same car (engine rebuilt by audi then remapped) and we used it as a company pool car. It is quick, much quicker and pulls all the way through the revs. I was impressed. I have an octavia vrs 2.0 tsi with 220bhp and its not that far off. Something has gone wrong with the OP’s remap i...

How easy is it to change the pas pump

Hi Diesel bob, thank you. That’s a good suggestion and was one of the things the second garage did as they are VAG specialist and know their stuff. It was something they checked and unfortunately wasn’t to be.

How easy is it to change the pas pump

Looks like I will need to change the power steering pump on my b8 2.0 tdi (caga) as 2 garages are now not sure why my steering is heavy. How easy is it? Does anyone have a guide or helpful hints? Hoping I can do it without removing the fromt bumper. Any pointers or help would be great!

    Front brakes warped again!

Well here's an update... Changed the front caliper 2 weeks ago and 1500 miles of trouble free. Now I don't know if its me but when the brakes a warm they feel like they are all slightly dragging. I did a full bleed when the caliper was changed. I've run a scan and no faults. I'm stumped by...

    Brake judder...due to warped discs?

I tested mine by lifting the car on all four sides do a brake fluid change and then spinning the discs. One was noticeably more resistant than the other even though the piston would eventually retract. I also had a laser temperature monitor which showed disc on one side was about 70degC warmer...

    Brake judder...due to warped discs?

I’m pleased to report no more judder for me! Turns out it was the caliper which wasn’t seized just ‘lazy’ at returning. This eventually was overheating pads and discs leading to judder. The pads and discs were new so i haven’t replaced them and there is no more judder! Very pleased

    Steering & Seat vibration ???

Put your hands over your brakes and check if one of them is hot. I have the same issue (read my other threads) as I am having a stuck caliper which is leading to horrible judder from 70mph onwards. My disc is blue from the heat cycles. Could be that?

Please help! Front Right Brake Binding (not caliper)

Hi Folks, This one is driving me mad and could really do with some help. My front right brake is binding and holding the car back. It's been getting red hot compared to the others. I fitted new discs, pads and flexi hoses (both sides) 2 months ago which seem to have cured the issue above...

    Front brakes warped again!

Thanks for the responses. Yes new fluid sounds like a good idea as I’ll have ****** it again. Just thinking could it be the guide pins rather than caliper? I’ve noticed ECP dont sell guide pins or does a set come with the caliper? I wondered if it could be the pins rather than caliper...

    Front brakes warped again!

Hi there, hoping someone can help... I had my front brake pads, discs and hoses replaced 3 months ago due to warped brakes as a result of sticking front brakes. I was told by mechanic tbat the hoses most likely had caved in and stopped return. 3 months and 10,000 miles later they are warped...

    Recovering from service costs!

Well I knew it was coming but still hurts! My cambelt and oil servicewas due. Plus my brakes at the front started to stick and warp the discs. Mechanic found that the hoses have collapsed on the inside (is this common??) and boiled the fluid. Both sides. Calipers were ok apparently. So new...
