Mini Detail on a Abarth 595 Competizione

Great job man! Nice car, my mate has a 595 too and it's a fun little car, more so after he had a backbox delete (bombardone system fittted).

Best way to get good snow foam?

Right, so washed a car at home with some of the advice above. I used hot water in the snowfoam bottle, filling slightly less than a 1/3 of the bottle with snowfoam soap and turned the adjuster all the way to the minus setting). It came out very nice and thick! Cheers @DeanoC Next time, I will...

Best way to get good snow foam?

That's interesting because I have a cheap nilfisk PW, but it definitely used to foam up a lot better originally, but nowadays not so much. I've heard that there is a gauze inside the foam lance that needs to be replaced? This seems to be consistent with the symptoms I've described...

Best way to get good snow foam?

I think I need to try the hot water! Don't have a water softener unfortunately, I'm probably using the hardest water available (London water).

When the muck just won't move

Sorry, what's the CSL? I only know some detailing terms lol

When the muck just won't move

I was experimenting slightly and I was topping up a snowfoam bottle that already had some citrus pre-wash in it, so don't have an accurate dilution ratio. I think the final ratio may have been around 4:1.

When the muck just won't move

Same here! My silver wheels are practically black! Think I might have to break out the IronX.

When the muck just won't move

I've come across the same issue, almost all the time. It's that thin layer of muck that snowfoam doesn't seem to take off on it's own. So recently, I just added a high concentration of Citrus pre-wash to the snowfoam bottle and this seemed to shift the dirt a lot better, as when it came to the...

    Window Cleaner

Can always spray on the cloth first and then spread it on the edges of the screen carefully.

    Window Cleaner

I suppose you could do the following to prep the windscreen: 1) Normal wash with shampoo 2) Clay the glass and dry it 3) Use some Autoglym glass polish (good stuff, really brings the gloss and sheen to glass, makes it look like new imo) 4) Apply some glass sealant product (I know there is some...

Orange Peel paint on German cars...

Orange peel is certainly a pain! I think skilled wet sanders know what they are doing and can take off only a few microns of clear coat when they sand the paint, so there is plenty left. So as long as the paint depth gauge shows you got plenty of paint to play with, then I wouldn't worry! I'm...

    Ford Fiesta Detail

S4, even better! Looks good, it's one of my favourite Audis, got same wheels as mine too. I know what you mean, it's satisfying. I think most people on my road have seen me wash a car on their travels. One guy recently asked if I was a trader, because he always sees me washing cars.

    Ford Fiesta Detail

Wow that must fly! Ah great opportunity to ZVH it! Yeah filler cap was very common on the mk3. Might need to check the A-Pillars and under the rubbers where the door meets the sill. Nice A4 in the background, looks classy!

    Ford Fiesta Detail

That is indeed a Fiesta! Good work mate, red looks awesome once polished! Weirdly, the grey mirrors are nice and I wouldn't rush off to colour code them! Is it rot-free? What was it that people used to do to these? Beige/Green injectors and all that. My Dad had a cayman blue mk3 and a white mk3...

    Ford Fiesta Detail

Some good mods there, brings back memories of the Fiesta days (well still living them a bit at the moment). Did you use a clear wrap on the front bumper then? Good call on the mk5 induction sound. In fact here is my old one (pipercross kit fitted):

    Ford Fiesta Detail

Yeah I did question whether I should use the term "detail" and perhaps use the "wash and wax" term instead, but I went to the effort of claying it, so one step closer to detail :) Agreed! Nice Fiesta Cambaines! I wasn't really on ZSOC much but was on UK Fiesta Network if you heard about that...

    Ford Fiesta Detail

Ok it's not an Audi, but I'm sure there will be some people on here that will appreciate a good Ford! I did this about 2 months ago and the wax seems to be holding up. Started off with this: Snowfoam: Followed by 2 BM with some Meguiars NXT shampoo and some G101 on the wheels. Then...

Recommendations for an alloy wheel sealant.

I used Chemical Guys Maxcoat Wheel Guard. This is very easy to apply and has definitely made cleaning the wheels easier, don't have to use a rough brush on the wheels to get any dirt off at all.
