My A4 1.9 TDI Avant 05 plate, 190k on the clock was parked up at work on Monday when a driver who was parked next to it turned into it when driving away.
Luckily he came in and gave me his details and his insurance company, Saga said they would deal with it as he admitted liability.
The damage...
tried the swap but nothing. been through all sorts of re-syncing procedures but cannot get it to work.
so i have the blade and transponder from my key & the board and battery from another.
im thinking the bit with the blade and the transponder are in one half, so simply disengaging this part and swapping it to a new battery part should work?
My a4 b6 key has finally stopped working, think it was the spider battery connection that has packed in.
I have managed to get a key same frequency and model etc.
*** the transponder is in the blade part, is it a simple case of swapping the 2 button pats over so my blade is with the working...
I have got two noises which are proving difficult to diagnose at the min. Wondering if anyone might identify with them.
First one sounds like rub with each revolution of a tyre. Checked each corner and nothing making contact. As you drive past other cars it echos and sounds louder. When speed...
A4 b6 avant the car has recently started having this fault of the alarm sounding when driving. Goes off for a few seconds then stops. It happened 5 times in a 1 1/2 drive. No flashing lights or anything?
Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?
So I have oil which appears to be leaking from the EGR valve, took it apart and there is a bit of oil inside it.
I presume the EGR is knackered and needs replacing, however if I just blanked off the EGR will this stop the oil entering and leaking too?
Just had an MOT fail on an offside fuel leak in the engine bay, the strut support has a matting on it and that was damp with diesel and looked like the surrounding area was damp too.
Was going to strip down and clean it up to try and spot any leak, but can anyone think of a likely suspect?
Any...
Just recently noticed when pulling away there is a slight hesitation/lack of power just after changing into second. Wen for a drive today and it more notable when driving a bit slower and less so when tearing off.
I know it could be absolutely anything but anyone have any suggestions as to what...
Just to update and close this thread.
I found the problem to be one of the legs of the battery holder had come away from the PCB, a bit of solder and its good as new :)
Had the fob apart a few times and the contacts seem good.
Yeah was thinking it might be a poke around in the door. I doesn't bother me as much when the fob was workign as it was just a couple of presses on the fob, but when its a manual walk round the cars and lean in..
Thanks for the suggestions
Hi
Just before Christmas my remote fob was working intermittently, so I changed the battery and it stopped working all together. Did the re-sync thing as so many times before but nothing completely dead.
Tried other batteries and re-syncs but nothing and manual opening is becoming pain in the...
