There is no component protection on lift motors. Left side (passenger) for UK should be 8K9 827 851.
These end up plugging in to the BCM2 comfort control module (J383) which could have an eeprom issue if perhaps had been taken from another car as a second hand part in the past. I would expect...
Usually they use a locksmith key device on the barrel to get in and then obd tool to code a new key.

Ah good. It may be that as it seems someone has activated the drive select option menu without installing the physical button, maybe it's a general restriction of the MMI screen that you can't use it while driving. Obviously the button is there to make it safer to press while driving than...
Not sure about the screen blocking while driving but you can change the options to show others but only have a max of 5 activated so you may need to turn another off to try the others.
This should help

It's not the rear wiper trying to work is it? Some have the option for rear wiper when raining and put into reverse. If your wiper is broken like most of them then it could be that trying to work or the electrics at least? Does the rear wiper work normally?

And does the switch illuminate normally with the other buttons when you turn the lights on? Or the whole switch is dark when you switch the headlights on?
If the whole thing is dark then you may have a loose or disconnected wire from the switch to the convenience module under the steering...
Hi, so when you press hill hold, it activates and you see the green P on the dials display? But you don't have the light showing on the button? Is that what you mean?

From what I can read that service in the UK has stopped broadcasting altogether. So may not have anything to do with your update or settings. Mine seems to be crossed out too.

I suppose this may not be possible for the 8.5..
Have you tried the coding from this page where you can set the default setting. Certainly can on B8.

Hi not sure but this may help. This was for someone who has an existing start stop switch but if you don't have that the wire to the J519 would prob be the same then you just need the power, ground and button illumination.

Symptoms sound water related. Often water gets into the left cubby hole in the boot where the radio components are and starts to make odd things happen with the front system.

Hi
Could someone with dynamic steering (1N7) option please post their options ticked in central electric module across the different bytes where steering options come up? Particularly bytes 7 and 8.
Looking to make sure I've got right options ticked.
Thanks

2G
8t0 035 223 T
8t0 035 223 F
8t0 035 223 C
8t0 035 223 M
3G
8t0 035 223 H
8t0 035 223 AN
8t0 034 223 AK...
Seems hard to find a definitive list of part revisions that are compatible but looks like your age and MMI spec had revision F and then T being the newer one.
Do you have MMi 2G has more of a red colour screen or higher spec like 3G?

I don't for the halogens unfortunately. Easiest way I found was if you have a voltmeter and measure on each pin when brake on/off, indicator on/of, side lights on/off etc to eventually work out what pin controls what then move it into the right pin in the new plug.
