this is a weird one recently I noticed that when I press either the start/stop button or (the one next to it) traction control neither button does anything.
They used to (had to use it last year in the snow) but now nothing happens....
Any clue why these would suddenly stop working (my start...
Ok so been running the car for a few months with the yellow oil can and the shrill Beeeeeep every time I start up the car. Had enough and sat and went through all of the fuses in both fuse boxes. Found fuse no 7 (5A) in the side of the dash to have blown! Eureka I think I’ve found it!!
New fuse...
Spent the day under the car tracing wires and check and there are no obvious damage to any wiring.
I disconnected the battery and the warning goes away but only for the initial start. One the second start it’s back.
I don’t understand why when it was initially fitted it read the oil temp. but...
Thanks mate-The bonnet catch does that show as the bonnet is open all the time or not?
Already checked the fuses-all good.
Is it the sensor wiring that runs near to the air con pump? And can you describe where that is on the 8P
I have had the oil level sensor defective warning on my dash for a couple of months. It is on permanent and stops me from using the driver info system (and stops me selecting tracks on my iPod) Of course this happened just after I got the car serviced.
Today I bought fresh long life oil, filter...
If it's been coded off it wouldn't show on the dash? Would it?
I know it's not coded off as it's done it like 4 times in 2 years of ownership so I know it's on just don't know why it doesn't turn off.....always thought it was due to having the fan on the lowest setting (one small rectangle on...
ok getting round to all of the annoying issues with my 2011 A3 S Line 2.0 TDI.
Rear Wiper motor replaced
Wheel arch liners replaced (were smashed)
Floor covers replaced (again missing/broken)
New tyres all round
Now my attention has turned to the fact that my start/Stop never comes on (never...
It's a well known fault. The window washer runs through the rear wiper motor and leaks causing random working. Only option is a replacement wiper motor-£55 from eBay. Easy to swap-all answers here...
The swap is simple - remove the tailgate cover (4 torxs screws) and remove the wiper arm 1x13mm nut. Then there are 3 nuts that actually hold the motor on.
The only issue is I couldn't get the wiper arm off the splined shaft. A small puller from
eBay sorted that really easily.
Dead easy and...
Well ordered an original Valdeo from eBay £55 delivered and an easy swap.
I opened the faulty one and this is what it looked like inside.....

Thanks again for everyone's advice and suggestions!!
That's the one I was looking at.
There are two types and the smaller one seems a bit more limited in its uses and also think I'd snap the plastic grip off trying to tighten it.
Thanks guys I'll go for the valeo one. Yeah that's what I was thinking 6 years and it's leaking! Saying that it only started yesterday but I want to try and make sure the boot lock doesn't go on the blink-so I have stripped it already.
Any advice for removing the rear wiper arm? It's well...
My car has started displaying the typical dreaded rear wiper issue-switching on all by itself, rusty water and leaking into the boot.
Looking for any feedback on source of parts.
eBay £40 no idea of manufacturer.
eBay £59 part made by same manufacturer as Audi (Valeo)
£90 genuine from local...
Yeah mate I bought a Denison kit from Amazon and it works amazingly well. It displays track and song info on the Driver info display between the clocks and I can select the music only using the buttons on the MFSW.
From memory it was around £90 from Germany.
Dead easy to fit-plugs in the back...
Yeah it's really easy to fit plug and play. You inplug the wiring from the back of the stereo then if the Denison in line and then run the cable to whereever you want the iPod and that's it.
I bought mine from Amazon dispatched from Germany seller was maxcount and was £90. I tried to add a link...
