I managed to sort the problem out. Had a new Sachs clutch kit and flywheel fitted and the garage said the slave cylinder was leaking. It also leaked onto the clutch causing issues. All sorted now but cost alot to repair.

Could be a mechanical pedal failure, need to get yer head deep down in the footwell and have a a look. If all that is ok the cluctch slave cylinder, realease bearing, clutch friction plate, clutch cover are completely worn out. Thanks for the reply. No bits in the footwell, or leaks. Car drove...
