Ok the 13mm caliper slider bolt on the rear of my A3 8P is well and truly seized and to top it off the bolt is starting to round off.
Tried heating it up, tried various oil's to free it up but it's not budging.
I'm now at the point when I'm thinking of just grinding/cutting the bolt head off...
I have the same problem on a 53 plate A3. Fuses are fine, light dimmer works but range control doesn't do anything, also don't appear to have any codes...
Final got around to doing this job at the weekend. The soot & waste that came out of the EGR body was quite impressive.
Although it's not a difficult job it is fairly time consuming, also if you don't have a decent array of tools I'd be less inclined to carry out this job as you will require...

I know there are a million posts on EGR's & cleaning but thought it was worth a quick broadcast to ask the following:
1) Whats the easiest way to remove the EGR
2) Is there anything to look out forward once removed i.e. clips/bolts etc that might fall out
3) Is brake cleaner the best stuff to...
Righty peeps,
Well I finally made it from Subaru to Audi, it took sometime but hopefully this is the start of another 15+ years of motoring.
Right down to basics, got a few problems one of which is fairly serious which I'm sure can be easily fixed which I'm hoping a few of you might be able to...
