I have this same issue, and its come around at such a bad time (as they always do)
I need some info on which cylinder heads will fit 2.0 tfsi, whether the engine code matters, if i have to source a replacement engine.. does it have to be the exact same code or model etc?
Just a few questions...
Wow, this site never ceases to amaze me. Your replies have been excellent. It always helps when you understand the job that much more.
In terms of parts, I'm assured that TPS are a supplier a genuine VAG parts as I've used them frequently in the past? Tbh the guy doing the job is a good guy...
Yeahh it's the cam inlet.
Why would he want to change that part if I've asked him to do that chain and tensioner? Is this a normal part which is changed too.
I've got the noisy chain rattle symptoms, as fair as I'm aware I didn't need to change anything else other than the chain, tensioner...
Ok I've got an a4 b7 2tfsi petrol cabriolet.
I've taken it to a garage and he said just one of the parts is £350!! Parts bill will add up to £550!!
Stupidly, I've forgotten what the part was called. Possibly a 'Cam Inlet..'
Usually i do all the work on my car but this job was a bit beyond my...
Yeahh these are the codes for a cabrio b7 a4. One side has the 5 switches, other side had 1 switch location.
If in doubt, go into your dealer with your chassis number and just tell them which parts you want..
i do have the part number, i also bought the window switch surrounds for both sides too.
8H2 867 172
8H2 867 171 £14.82 Each
8H2 959 521
8H2 959 522 £12.95 Each
Not sure which codes are for which item though.
I had the same issue with the rubber grip handles.. they were worn and awful looking.
I tried various methods to strip the rubber coating but i found it difficult. I sprayed them myself etc, tried alot of methods. Even when i spend hours spraying they just didnt look right when i installed...
last time i did it:
Clean the roof with autoglym kit (or any other kit such as renovo), then i sprayed the hood with white vinegar (left for about an hour) to kill the moss spores, cleaned it again with the kit, then used a water proofer.
Sorry that's the point i was trying to get across. You said you changed it for OEM when you should have written Aftermarket, because OEM would have been the exact same part?
I've always avoided B6 seats, simply because i wouldn't know how to fix the airbag error. Was it an easy fix? (I don't want to clutter your thread so if it's easier to PM)
