Hi ya
Just wondering if anyone has retro fitted a new front arm rest and was it a straight forward job?
Mine has started to crack (130k plus miles) and I was looking to buy a new one and fit it myself, looks like it could be a royal pain in the **** though.
Cheers
Rob
Your A3 is 5 years old, sod taking it to the dealership to be ripped off. Try and find a VAG specialist nearby, will cut the costs in half and you'll be helping a local business.
I've been taking my 4 year old A3 to mine for a year now and they're great, just done a major service and air con...
I had a look around inside and it has started to work again but only if I press the unlock button twice.
Think I will change it myself once It stops working altogether.
So went to fill up yesterday and the stupid fuel flap wouldn't open, all doors unlocked but just wasn't opening. I had to resort to pulling the red cable.
Tried again last night and it just won't open.
Sounds like the mechanism has failed, anyone else had this and changed the part themselves...
Well the phone holder arrived (eventually) took about 2 weeks but I'm really impressed with it. For around £15 posted it works really well and doesn't look too bad either.
Just ordered one of these for £14 posted, they look pretty good and look a little easier to fit and remove without having to completely remove the vents.
Anyone else got one and can give a real world review...
Got into work and need to arrange two new front tyres and ****** forgot to note down the size :-(
Can anyone confirm as when I put the reg in it comes up with at least two sizes.
Thanks in advance :-)
Thanks for the reply Fatbloke, could you put up a picture of the cut bumper?
Do you have to inform your insurer that you've had a towbar fitted? does it class as a modification?
Yeah they're the company I've contacted, extremely helpful and have quoted £360 fully fitted with a 7 pin plug.
Looked around and I can pick up a 2 bike THULE carrier for £150 off chainreaction, so just over £500 all in isn't too bad really.
Although I did watch a video of a full fitting and...
Well I was contemplating a small van or car just for cycle trips so I think a towbar and Thule rack will be cheaper.
Looking around I think it'll be about £600 for the towbar fitted then £200 for the rack, expensive I guess but I think it's a better way to transport them.
They are actually really cool, thanks. I'm looking at maybe transporting a few bikes though and ideally wanted to use a towbar one.
The roof racks scare the life out of me and look like they'll scratch the hell out of my roof.
