High level brake light bulb change

As above, I changed all mine at the weekend as 3 were out. Ordered box of 10 online for around £5 I think. Very simple and they are indeed tiny!

Naths 2for1 Maintain, Improve & Track! Thread

Few pictures of a clean car as promised! I've changed all the top rear brake light bulbs which was a nice simple job and hopefully cured an annoying rattle under the passenger chair. The passenger window control has been disconnected also because the window just goes down and stays there...

So I picked the car up yesterday and it feels really weird compared to my current daily. The steering wheel feels enormous! The pedal positioning is really odd and it doesn't make any noise :( It also feels sloppy and slow. It appears to not have VTEC too which is a bummer. Now I know having...

Naths 2for1 Maintain, Improve & Track! Thread

Lengthy thread update inbound; So just before the MOT back at the start of March I intended to blank the Airbag light but couldn't remove the cluster so I simply cancelled the MOT and SORN the car for a while. I tried to keep starting the car and rolling it around in the hope nothing would...

Suspension: help, my A3 looks like a Landrover

Exactly ^ pretty much wish I'd stumped up the extra and got the AP's.

Suspension: help, my A3 looks like a Landrover

Jumping in a tad late but I have Vogtland 35mm Suspension Kit fitted, ordered from DPM (ofc) and the kit seems decent quality and arrived quickly. Myself and the garage who fitted was dissappointed by the lack of drop on the rear though. Front seems ok but rear is pretty high still. Probably due...

    98 Instrument Cluster Removal - Screws Seized/Rounded

Hey guys, just a quickie as per title really. I've tried to remove my cluster but the initial screws on either side that are usually hidden seem to be seized and or rounded. I've tried multiple bits and screwdrivers but can't get any purchase and it just slips. What should be my next method...

Whatever the standard size is, probably 55 profile but I like them.

Right, all the above bits are done. The car feels so much better now, before it rolled and wallowed but now it's much tighter and more direct. The steering has gained a bit of weight too which is nice. Hopefully the car will settle a little lower than it is as the rear is still quite high but...

With standard pads and fluid I doubt I'd get much benefit really plus it's only the 150 model and that's not changing anytime soon. I feel with decent pads and fluid for when it hits a track hopefully later this year it'll be fine to start with.

The S3 was the daily yes, but as I'm down to just this car it's going to have to do everything. Daily, commute, long trips, poss work stuff etc so it needs to be in good order mechanically as well as visually really. The bodywork needs some attention - scratches and rust on the bottom of the...

Naths 2for1 Maintain, Improve & Track! Thread

Ooooh 2nd page, I must talk a lot. I received my suspension kit last night so this morning whilst getting bits and bobs I dropped by my local garage. Not been there for nearly a year but they remember myself and the other half and I asked about them getting the bits fitted. I took everything...

Also of interest to me at least, I took the time to look up the cars MOT's online and to actually look at the service book rather than flick through. Turns out the car has been serviced and had an oil change every single year without fail. Interestingly though since 2007 the car has also...

Few pics Friday as apparently it's going to be mostly dry! I've got a long weekend as it's my birthday Sat so I may replace front discs & pads. My alloys are all f***** so I ordered some new ones last night. Hopefully they'll turn up Monday when I'm off. Also a new dv and panel filter on...

New Year Update: Further sadness in that I've had to sell the S3, it's gone to a friend and hopefully she'll treat it well. Sorry for not replying Daz, I'm going to cover the airbag light as it shouldn't be a fail if I've understood the MOT rules, depending on the tester though I guess...

Winter Update: No money; life costing lots and things need paying off. All plans put on hold until at least early next year. I'm going to either have to sorn my a3 or get the airbag light fixed for it's MOT in March ish. It'll either have to be fooled or car made safe, i.e. buckets &...

Do it!!! Everything will be more lively and it'll be great. Although if you want it return it to road spec to sell one day don't get carried away and brake any plastic trim etc. I've binned all my a3 interior so it's scrap or only any use to someone else to wants to track! Prawn - does that...

Spotters thread for A3/S3 8L chassis

Pretty sure I saw a Silver S3 at a petrol station in Cheltenham near KIngsditch on Sat around 8.15AM. I was going the other way so only got a glance, I rarely see any around!
