My mate has air fitted to his 05 MK5 golf with 50mm struts, and I remeber him saying it was a problem when he had it fitted. If I remeber rightly they ended up using mk4 golf structs to do it as they are 50mm, so might be worht looking into that first?
Should fit fine, as with all streched tyres yes it will effect the handeling, but thats what you sacrafice for the so called "scene", I would say go for it though, can run mega low on 17s :)Really looking forward to FittedUK show, and edition will be awesome as usual.You in the show and shine...
AP, KW, Weitec all wont go low enought for what youve said you want. FKs are really the only way forward (Ultralows if you can afford them), but i wouldnt bother upgrading from AK Streets to Highsports etc, wont be much different in terms of ride quality. The price you pay for wanting to go low
Wound the coils all the way down, and it sits like this.
AP coilovers are great but not good for lows they just need that little bit extra in my opinion, so that will need to be sorted out soon.
Also stumbled across some RS4's very cheap, so snapped them up

So one of the first things that needed doing was lows, so I finally opted for AP coilovers after a long time debating and lots of questions, they came about 3 days before UD so didn't get a chance to get them on by then, but here's some pics of them on.
