I've had the 150 tdi a3 and then got the 1.4cod in pretty much same spec due to mileage. I would say there is a marginal difference in mpg. I have felt a vibration occasionally but wouldn't say it was bad. Most of the time it is silent and I don't know it is on apart from on the screen. When it does vibrate it almost feels like the engine is struggling under load cause it should be using 4 and not 2 cylinders.

If I'm driving carefully to work I have got up to 58mpg before and If I'm running late it's about 45. No motorway driving either. Range was 500 miles last tank fill up. Guess I'm taking it easy still as its 2 months old and I've not done many miles.

About £50 ish to fill up. Mines brand new and been getting between 45 and 51 mpg every day with average driving.

You can tell the difference very slightly when looking at it compared to sport suspension but SE doesn't look high at all with 18s.

I don't have an S3 but an A3 sline Tdi with SE suspension. Lost count of the amount of times I've almost crapped myself going round a corner thinking will I make it or bouncing all over the place. Not sure what to go for next as its put me off a bit.

Is it worse on newer models due to having to make the engines cleaner these days? Never noticed it on other diesels I use and had in the past.

In winter it comes on more than summer but I guess that's due to the engine taking a while to warm up when it's cold? It's about 12 miles to work and in winter I would say it kicks in at least once a week. Also I find the car isn't as responsive when the DPF kicks in but I can never tell why...

I think if you use a good wax like Collinite and top it up before the car needs rewaxing you can get away with a good wash. Last time I cleaned it properly there was no tar or much picked up by the clay bar as the wax was still on the car as it lasts so long.

Out of those choices I wouldn't consider the white as it looks like an off cream colour.

I have the 2.0L TDI 150 and then had a go in the cod. I was really impressed by it and wonder why I went diesel for my 8k a year. It's such a smooth engine, really quiet and has some nice power/acceleration in the lower gears.

That's what mine is on and it's good. But I have really noticed using high quality MP3's makes a huge difference along with a good SD card.
