It does sound like a lot of work. I wanted to install the silverstars that look clear when they are off and the regular amber when you turn them on, but it looks like it's a lot of work for a little vanity detail.

Start with the rear ones, they are easier..
I'm amazed to read all this literature on which motor is best and under which circumstances it's best (phase of the moon, etc). Surely guys, there are far better engines than your little 2.0 TDI and 2.0 FSI. There are even better engines than the 2.0 TFSI and 3.2. I bet my 1.6 FSI can give...
You could park it on a busy and preferably narrow road with the mirror in unfolded position and wait for a truck to come by at full speed "gently" encountering your mirror. When the mirror reaches the farthest end towards the bonnet of the car, mother nature will apply all physics available so...
Speaking for myself I regularly use DIS to monitor consumption (in traffic, open road, with climate on/off) etc. I wish I could find a way to export this information for further study..

Yes, it's on my todo list..
Has anyone driving manual noticed any vibration on the clutch? I do feel the engine rattling (FSI) on my foot when the engine is idle or when stopped behind a noisy car I get the exhaust resonance through the clutch again. This is more obvious when the clutch is almost half pressed for a gear...
Not completely sure but I guess it will just keep purring cold air at the speed and exit points currently selected (thus aircon in 'on', auto is 'off') an then what? Will it stop after the indicated temperature is met? Or will it just disengage the compressor and keep up with fresh air ?

I also think the new model A3 Climate control is not up to the standard one would expect. I have a 98 1.6 SE which makes it easy to compare the new and the old.
For example, for the same level of comfort, if I have the old model set at 19C the temperature in the new model needs to be...
I had the same problem on my 1.6 FSI while driving on the highway. I rushed the car into the dealer who later told me that it was low quality fuel that caused the signal to appear. He also told me never to leave the car tell me it's time to eat because petrol remains may cause this warning.
