No, in fact the brakes squeal only when I go forward (and for a minute or so). Strangely, when I reverse, they're totally quiet.

Thanks for the advice. I did it and the next morning the brakes were quiet, however the morning after the squealing continued the same as before.

Thank you for your message! :-) The problem is that they've already replaced the discs (the back ones, as that's where the sound is coming from), brake pads and the calipers. I don't even know what else can they possibly replace. Do you know?

I still have wife's A3 8P, but it makes no noise when braking, it never has. The Audi people are very understanding and accommodating, but the problem is unresolved. I'm now thinking of replacing the pads with aftermarket ones, just to get that out of the equation.

I'm surprised people put up with this. It's an Audi, not a Hyundai, I paid more than 2 times the price of a top of the line Hyundai i30 and they're unable to fix this, even after replacing discs, calipers and pads. I'd understand if it squealed a little bit for a second or two, but to loudly...

I took the car to Audi and they found a crack on the outside edge of the glass through which the moisture came in. Apparently some idiot bumped the headlamp hard enough to crack it. Yes, it's Glacier White. I Photoshopped the image (Shadows & Highlights) to make the moisture more apparent. :-)

You're right, it's not right at all. :-) Do they just replace the seal normally? Does it often happen again? What's the right way to solve this once and for all?

Since 10 days ago I have moisture inside one of the headlights for no reason. Obviously it's extremely fugly. The headlight works fine otherwise. What should I tell Audi? Should I insist they replace the headlight? The picture I took today is below. Thanks!

Go for s-tronic and paddles. It's wonderful, you won't regret it.

See how taste differs, I consider Q3 rear to be best looking of all Audis, except maybe A5. I'm not crazy about Q3's front light shape, but other than that I consider it to be a very good looking car.

Just to report that the problem has been solved by Audi.. apparently there was a tiny bit of contact left upon releasing the brake (as it's s-tronic, you also have to press the brake in order to start the car) when the car was cold. Now the car is as quiet as a mouse again, in fact a neighbor...
