My ECU software was updated today by Audi. The ubiquitous 'lag' issue appears to have significantly improved... but I think I need a few more miles to make a more informed assessment.
I received a letter today from my local dealer quoting Campaign 24AB...they say I need to bring my car in because it's 'very important' to carry out an update as soon as possible.
Hmmm...
Yes zig, I agree. I will speak to Audi in the next few days to ensure my 'new' options package equates to my 'old'...and I even have the option to add others since it will be a new order (I will pay the difference, however, there's not much else I can add!).
I've just caught up with the thread again, so thanks for all your inputs so far. Very interesting (and varied) to say the least!
Anyway, I have another update following the less than constructive phone call this morning...
Both Audi Lincoln and I have spoken to Audi UK through the course of...
21 May 2013...an interesting development...
The Head of Business at Audi Lincoln stated that he would not accept a rejection of the car, nor would he support compensatory measures. He further stated that he was fulfilling his obligations under law by replacing the engine under warranty and...
Audition, I think I'm erring on your side of the argument. A friend of mine had an engine swap on his new car (admittedly a different brand - Peugeot) several years ago and had so many resultant problems over the following couple of years. He was in dispute with Peugeot for so long he nearly had...
Artimus, yes, the car is otherwise perfect...but I'm surprised that any new car would be shipped with such a major fault like a dodgy engine, never mind an Audi. I think the extended warranty is a valid potential compensation package should I decide to keep the car, but I was hoping for a free...
Zig/mjcourtney...I've got the V5 registration document and both the chassis number and engine number are listed. The way I see it, whether I change the car or the engine, there's going to be paperwork regardless! Good point though about the HPI check...I'll ask the question tomorrow...
Hittchy, I can't disagree with any of your points! I'm speaking with the Head of Business on Monday 20th May to see the lay of the land. It will be interesting to see whether Audi themselves suggest a sensible compensation package (extended warranty etc.) without prompt. Although not ideal, I...
Pluves1...you seem bang on here. Could you have a look at my recent post (ref Engine Change) and let me know what you think of my situation please?
Regards,
Kenny
I picked my brand new fully-specced A3 SB (1.8 TFSI S-tronic) on 26 April and I've been loving it...until recently. I started to get intermittent warning lights (Engine max speed: 4000rpm; ACC unavailable; Automatic start/stop: system fault; Audi pre sense: system fault). Following a visit to...
Gents (dieseldoug/meatfly), if that's the case (i.e. my car having it), then I can recommend the S-Line sports suspension...the ride is ever so slightly hard, but is still comfortable. There's very little body roll and the steering is sure-footed...I'm more than happy!
I picked my Sportback up on 26th April (3 weeks earlier than expected!!) and I also specced the S-Line sports suspension. I have no reason to believe the suspension is anything other than what I ordered, although it didn't cross my mind to confirm at pick-up. Anyway, it's difficult to tell...
