They only did the one, I mentioned about then doing it in pairs and they said that my other one was fine so no need to change it. Fine by me as it saves me some pennies.
Shock was £44 + vat and then an hours labour at £33 + vat.
That's was a independent garage.
Just a update to let you know the out come.
Been in the garage today and it turns out to be my shock absorber, they said it had completely gone.
All fixed and sorted now. Thanks for the advice and comments
Will try and get the cap off later. Glad to know they won't completely fail. No warning light as of yet but you never know it could come on any time. Fingers crossed I can get it booked in asap.
Had a look at the brake fluid level and it is hard to make out where it is. It looks to be on the minimum line but I am not sure.
The cap has a sensor connected to it. Does this need to come off before you take the cap off?
Going to ring the garage Monday morning and hopefully get it booked...
Noticed a few drops of oil on my drive way yesterday. When I looked under the car I noticed that the (bare with me if these are not the correct names for the parts.) spring, suspension (the thing that compresses) and the big black metal arm that runs from the wheel had traces of what I think is...
Yeah will do. Seems like it should have one, as I mentioned it has the alarm button on the drivers door, the red flashing light on the dash when locked and would it come up with errors on vcds if it was not installed? Would you get errors for cruise control if you did not have it fitted?
Thanks

Took it to a member on here who said it was already activated to beep when I locked it.

My Aircon won't turn on (eco light stays on).
Took it to a friends garage and he re gassed it but it still did not work. He said it could be the wiring but was not sure on the layout on an Audi (basically he only had a quick look)
Had it scanned a while back and have these errors...
have the same noise here. had it for over a year. did mention it once when it was in for a service and they checked the pipes for a boost leak and also took it out and they said it seemed to be boosting fine but they could not hear the noise! soon as i got back in the car and drove it the noise...
Cheers for that. Thinking mine might have a loose connection or something.
My boot somethings does not shut properly so I am forever slamming it.
The other day the wiper just stopped in middle and the stalk would not do anything other that squirt water.
Opened and shut the boot and then when...
My rear wiper is stuck in the up position. I may need to replace the motor but first I need to check what's gone on in there.
How easy was it to take the boot trim off and put back on?
Did you get the golf mk 4 motor for £10.
Thanks
