    Motorbike Track Days

I used to work for a few companies who taught and instructed at track days. On the "novice" section, you would typically start on a sort of follow the leader, to learn the correct line, and whilst doing this, we would encourage you to not use your brakes. This teaches you to use the gears, and...

Smoking in cars is going to get more expensive

I'm not a smoker, and I agree that it's not good for the kids, but once they get home they will be passive smoking, so unless there were to be a total ban, where's the point? Whether they inhale 20 a day at home, or 15 at home and 5 in a car, the kid is still inhaling.

    Remembrance Sunday

It is, but that doesn't fall on a Sunday very often, so it is commemorated on the nearest Sunday.

Anyone Else Getting A Head Ache Reading Stuff On The New Forum Lay Out? . .

I wonder, how does "throwing ones toys out the pram" slow your progress in fixing issues? Which compromise do you want to reach exactly? This is actually the first time I've been able to comment on anything in the last fortnight, because when I log in, I get the eggtimer, and nothing happens...

    New type Speed Camera

Actually, speed cameras can be any colour; what happened a few years ago, was that the police used to operate the cameras exclusively, and all of the money went to the government. However, in around 2003, (i think), the government introduced a thing they called "hypothecation", which meant that...

Perhaps you would get a better response were you to move this to the S3 section.

    fuel prices in europe

It good to see this, I'm doing a tour around Europe this summer, and I can try to ensure that I fill up in certain countries. I thought that we were probably the most expensive here in the UK, but now see that we aren't. Belgium, Germany, both more, even France is only 8cents (about 5p) a litre...

    S-Tronic Acceleration Lag

Hi, I don't have a diesel, so perhaps I am the wrong person to write, but on mine, I have drive select, which can be set to economy, dynamic, etc. In economy, it drives a little like you describe; have a look and see whether you have this, and what it is set to?

    New Tyres

I had Conti's on my S4, they used to tramline terribly. Michelin are doing a deal at the moment, where, depending on the size, they will give you a fuel card with (in my case) £60, thereby reducing the cost of the tyre. It had completely cured the tramlining. don't know how long they'll last, as...

    2013 A4 Sline 177 Tdi Steering

Hi, regarding the tramlining; my S4 really suffered with this. On my drive to work, I really had to hold the wheel firmly to keep it roughly straight! However, I have just had new tyres fitted, and instead of the Audi originals (contimax, I think) I went with Michelin as they were doing a deal...

    GB or non GB ?

I prefer not to have it, and use magnetic ones if I go abroad. I think they can look a bit "busy" with GB, or the flag.

Whats that weird half finished key in the glovebox

But if you take it out, and store it safely in your house, and then go out and lose your key, you will find that the spare 3rd key is at home, and even with the wallet key, you won't be able to get home for the spare you stored safely! Keep it where it is. Put the wallet key in your wallet, of...

    DAB radio and slideshow/radio text

I'd love to find the answer to this too; on my dads Merc, once the radio text is selected, it stays on, even if the car is parked up for a while. I find it irritating that I have to set it every time.

    Trackers. Yes or No?

The thing is, if you don't have it, and if your car gets stolen, the insurance company will have to pay out; and you can argue that the car was worth more etc etc. If you have the tracker activated, and if the car is stolen, you may get the car back, and the insurance company won't have to pay...

Advice about purchasing a new car

Larry, How can anyone recommend a car for you? How could we suggest new or used? we don't know you, or your disposeable income. I could recommend a brand new Bentley continental GT, but if you're on the minimum wage there would be no point. We also don't know whether you're a single parent or...
