I've compared the one in my Dad's MK5 gti before and there is no way that would fit as the centre console/armrest lid is completely different. Not sure if there was more than one type of armrest on them? Pretty sure the MK4 Golf one wouldn't fit either as my 4motion one also looked different.

Lock it with drivers window down, wait a minute or two then pop the bonnet and open it. Either the interior sensors or the bonnet sensor should set it off.

Bought my 2.0 TDI as salvage and with the damage being a lot less than it seemed it has turned out to be a very cheap car. Coming with an S-line single grill conversion already was an extra bonus. Could be a route to look down based on your budget, depending on your point of view on salvage...

Think standard ET is around 50-54. Being ET29 I imagine they will stick out from the arch or at least rub on it.

Stud pattern is 100% the same. Can't imagine you would have any issues with the calipers as they're coming from another 8P. ET50 will be fine also.
