This is interesting: The door handle cable was replaced. Then I looked at the window winder connector and saw this: The bottom of the connector is all green and the metal terminals blackened. I cleaned this up and the window winds perfectly :) I have no idea what happened here, presumably...

Looking at the rear number plate mountings on my S3 and not sure how to undo from behind. I tried an 8mm/9mm spanner but did not budge anything:

They are Bilstein dampers.

Its got uprated dampers (by previous owner) but I don't know what make without looking.

Its always looked like that(since I bought the car 2nd hand). Is that not right? The black plastic caps don't fit on the top either.

Just an update - Windscreen was replaced everything fine now. The windscreen came with the channel and that fitted into the cowling (apart from the cowling had some broken plastic in the middle section). We even discovered a manky old biro that had fallen down to the bottom of the windscreen :)

On the glass itself does that number and the dots indicate when it was manufactured (i.e. 9 ...... ) Looking around the car, the various window glass is made by the follwing manufactures: Splintex(windscreen + rear quarterlights), SIGLA(NS door), GUARDIAN(boot), SOLIVER (OS door)
