    Screen washer pump

My pump got rusted up and split the plastic so it leaks. I bought one on ebay for about £15. The ebay-sourced replacement is identical but has a plastic 'bump' on the electrical socket so that the plug on the engine loom will not fit. Can I just file off the bump on the water pump...

Repair Ramblings 2 - Drivers door

lol - now the centre console ashtray has failed so that it always stays open. I thought I had some success with that cleaning goo you can get. It seem to get the sust out the scratches so they are less noticable. Also the now the drivers door electric window has stopped again - it happens...

I had a go here is how it all looks now: I have got the plastic numberplate screw out. Does anyone have a part number for the mounting (the metal part)?

Repair Ramblings 2 - Drivers door

Important note: The window hasn't worked since December. After winding it up and down a few times today I noticed I have put a vertical scratch on the outside and a small wavy line scratch on the inside. Make sure you check the strips that brush against the glass if you haven't used your...

Repair Ramblings 2 - Drivers door

This is interesting: The door handle cable was replaced. Then I looked at the window winder connector and saw this: The bottom of the connector is all green and the metal terminals blackened. I cleaned this up and the window winds perfectly :) I have no idea what happened here, presumably...

Repair Ramblings 2 - Drivers door

Hi thanks for your replies. I have started work on this again. Fitting the replacement cable was straightforward. A number of those scuffs are from my foot where I was trying to get out the passenger side! I'm going to check the regulator and cables and motor when I work on the car this...

Repair Ramblings 2 - Drivers door

Hi, I have been looking at three things this week involving taking off the drivers door panel which has already been off at least once as I can see a number of broken plastic areas where the screws have been overtightened (The garage replaced the regulator a number of years ago) 1) The drivers...

Looking at the rear number plate mountings on my S3 and not sure how to undo from behind. I tried an 8mm/9mm spanner but did not budge anything:

Water leak through fan blower (pics)

I found this thread: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/top-mounts-replaced-with-pics.159323/ which has plenty of pics. I didn't realise it was an issue. It passed its MOT in November. I'm just reading through. It looks like the rubber element/bush (18 in tuftys diagram) gets elongated...

Just an update - Windscreen was replaced everything fine now. The windscreen came with the channel and that fitted into the cowling (apart from the cowling had some broken plastic in the middle section). We even discovered a manky old biro that had fallen down to the bottom of the windscreen :)

On the glass itself does that number and the dots indicate when it was manufactured (i.e. 9 ...... ) Looking around the car, the various window glass is made by the follwing manufactures: Splintex(windscreen + rear quarterlights), SIGLA(NS door), GUARDIAN(boot), SOLIVER (OS door)

Water leak through fan blower (pics)

Hi, I seem to have overcome the leak - This sheet of plastic has to be correctly placed and it has diverted the incoming water.
