The rear coil spring on one side of my '98 1.8T Sport has snapped. Anyone know of a good supplier for a replacement at a reasonable cost?.. Don't want anything special. Just the standard factory fit ones are ok. (Audi have quoted £50ish+vat each) Cheers Anand

Hi, Just had my car serviced at Nationwide Autocenter. They listed the power steering belt as worn, and needs replacement. (£42) So I looked in my trusted Haynes manual, and can't seem to find any reference to changing the power steering belt. Any ideas? Cheers, Anand

Sorry, Miss-read the original post, you are right. My problem was arising when being stationary in traffic (i.e. no natural airflow) and not having the fan working didn't help.

Check the 30amp fuse for the radiator cooling fan. Its located on the battery cover (far left fuse), not the regular fusebox. A few months back, the contacts for the fuse socket were not connecting properly, causing it to arc with the fuse leg. eventually caused the fuse to melt, and hence...
