This is a common mistake made by garages that don't know the RS6. 99% sure that when they pulled the filter housing off they snapped the wires connecting the MAFs. The correct way is to loosen the air filter housing and lift it only a fraction so that access can be gained to the MAF connectors...
I believe the 6 is fitted with bypass valves which are different (and better) than dump valves because they do something to help spool up the turbos. Not sure how but when I read about it it did make sense at the time.
So the short answer is no.
I traded in my B6 S4 for this beauty. Its an MTM RS6 prepared by Kim at QS Tuning. Only bought it yesterday. Paid cash. Drove it 10 miles and driver's side front tyre blew (big bang)!!
